Default Help, Im Leaking!!! Leaking!!!!!

I was leakin something 3 days ago, along with oil...I finally got under there today, and found that my factory battery was leaking, and it melted the wire loom covers...and messed up my drive way....the oil problem was coming from the filter, which was not tight at all..its supposed to be hand tight, and this thing just spun w/o struggle...i hand tightened it, and oil still leaks out of it...should i take it off and see if those boneheads left 2 seals on it, or just take it in where i got it changed...be advised, i had the oil changed 3000 miles ago, and it started leakin like last week...
What type of battery should i get, how many CCA?

Did you just do an oil change? Pull that filter off and make sure the round rubber seal from the old filter didn't come off and then you put the new filter on over it.

I know this really doesn't help your problem, but I feel SO secure knowing that I have no oil change related problems since I do it myself. Those quick lube oil change guys don't give a **** about your car. I had a Celica in college. I took it to a jiffy lube or something and they cross threaded the drain plug. Oil slowly leaked out to the point where the motor had a horrible rod knock (g/f driving it).

Anyway, with that said...
You might want to change your oil again and check the filter afterward just in case.

Taking off the filter will make a huge mess, so be careful. I'm sure this'll be an easy fix.

Good luck!

Dan

P.S. Sorry for rambling...too much tonight.

As far as the battery goes... Get yourself an Optima red top battery.. ive had one in every car ive owned.. they are awesome, and no leaks either... cause its a spiral gel cell battery.

In response to the quick lube joints, I've been using the same one for 10 years now.

It's all about finding one that has an enthusiast who works there and owns the place. One where you are welcome to go downstairs and check out the work as well as your car for other things.

There are hacks out there ... just chose wisely.
