My exhausts blowing raspberries.
What can this be from? I had the car in park and was showing a friend my exhaust system and I reved it to 6 and at 6 it was a very loud sharp noise and my driver side tailpipe shot out some liquid. exactly like how kids blow raspberries at each other. anyone know waht this might be from?
i hope you know what blowing raspberries is because i think that is one of the ahrdest things to describe on the internet.

Wow 6 is one hell of a rev after just starting the car. Could the liquid just have been moisture built up in the tail pipe. Since the car wasnt running for awhile the mufflers and exhaust didnt get to dry out and the force probably just pushed it out.

When a hot exhaust cools, moisture accumulates in it and it will be blown out when you restart the car. When I start mine, the liquid that sprays onto the driveway has a blackish color that made me think I was running rich. However, Tuning on the dyno showed that wasn't the case. I watched as they ran it up to 6K without a hint of black smoke. I'd like an answer to this too if anyone has one.

your exhaust will rasp big time when its cold...let it idle for a few mins to warm up...then rev if you want. you have carbon on the insides of the pipes too...that and the condensation will make a black liquid.

Re: My exhausts blowing raspberries.
Maybe the reason why is when you shut the car of you cut the ignition right? What happens to the fuel that is supposed to be burned at that time? It prolly gets pushed through and not burned!!!Therefore when you start the car the fuel is pushed out in a blackish color!!My .02

On a fuel injected car wouldn't you cut the fuel pump and kill the injectors at the same time you cut the ignition?

Yea thats just condinsation and the blackish color comes from the soot build up in youe exhaust chamber. You know your behind the truck or SUV at the stop light in the morning and you see the water drain out the exhaust when they take off. I also don`t recommend reving your motor to 6000 hot or cold without a load on the motor. I hope this helps.

Re: My exhausts blowing raspberries.
When I am driving maybe 75mph and let off the gas and begin to brake, it sounds as though my exhaust is "stuck" in the muffler and all of a sudden I can hear it coming out like a loogy? It slows me down too kind of like an exhaust brake. And when that pressure is released, the truck looses the exhaust brake feeling and coasts.
I have a 5.3L with intake and exhaust (50 series two chamber w/ turndowns after the muffler)
