Default I just got a new t/a and need help

I just got a new t/a (not ws-6)but it is an ls-1. Rather than go out on my own and start wasting money I am looking here for help to get this to 375-425 rear wheel horsepower and If anyone has any suggestions on what they did,any reccomendations or possible problems please help me. This will be as far as I go 375-425 so I will not(probabally) make later mods so if you have done similar upgrades or even just a reccomendation please help. And man do I love this car.

First off,

What year is it, brand new? Is it an A4 or an M6? Do all the free mods first, do the free ram air mod and get a K&N air filter. Descreen and port the MAF, get TR-55 plugs. Better tuning helps. If it's an A4 get a stall converter. Get a free flowing exhaust system. Do you have 3:23 gears? Get 3:73's for an A4 and 4:11's for an M6. Heads/Cam would be next. Read, read, read.

Mark

How fat is your pocket???
Its gonna cost you some money to get those #'s.....My suggestion is to read this web sites for months and try to learn what your gonna get in a product the pros and cons.....As long as you keep reading you'll eventually find a package that will put you there.....BTW heads/cam package is probably a necessity unless you wanna spray

Start with all the free mods. Check out my car on my website if you want to find the links to the "free" ram air and MAF porting....

the lists of my mods are below in my signature......

Glad to see someone else likes the non-ram air 'birds!!!!!!!

Be sure to take it step by step, What im doing is following the path of the air flow. It started off with the air filter, then the lid to the MAF to the smooth flow bellow to the throttle body, u dont need an LS^ intake so go to the exauset and then get stuff like pullys and all the other stuff then add your heads and cam and with that you should be over that amount. sorry if im missing some gramar stuff, kinda tired.

congrats on your acquisition! I've had my black bird since last december and am just starting 'shopping' for mods. I did do the free air and K&N filter almost immediantly though - pulled 13.7 with it while other total stock birds were pulling 14.2's. This is a great resource place - just read and ask ???'s.

To achieve the HP you want it would take some moderate (headers, exhaust, lid) bolt-ons with H/C or some slight bolt-ons and maybe a 100 or 125 shot. Read around, ask questions and check out the parts aviable in the sponser sites, happy hunting.

The best thing you can do for yourself is to hold on to your money for a couple of months and get very familiar with this site. The vast array of options at your disposal is mind blowing. There are literally hundreds of mods that you could do to your car - and people dream up new ones every day. Even once you decide on your mods there are so many brand names, price differences, quality issues and so on. Get familiar with the different products that catch your eye or interest you so that you don't squander your cash! Listen to the opinions and experiences of people on this board. You will learn alot. Who has good or bad customer service? Who gives good technical support and who just ships you a part in a box? Spend your dollars wisely! Good Luck!

I agree with the guys who recommend to shop around and learn alot about each mod. befor you buy any thing. Just stay with LS1 Tech and you will be a LS1 master(not that I am),but you really will learn alot. Right now I am learning all the pros and conns of headers, but I will definitly do some research befor buying any mod.(you will see the most pros and conns on MAF sensors)
