LS6 intake results not good!
Two weeks ago I ran an 11.978 @ 112.74 mph. Installed the LS6 intake, last night ran a 12.065 @ 112.63 mph. The weather conditions were almost identical. Both runs the temperature was 66 degrees. Humidity last night was up to 78% verses 60% and the barometer was up to 30.06 verses 29.95.
I am wondering if I bought a standard intake. It has mold number 12573572 molded on the manifold. Is this really an LS6 intake?
I have an LS6 cam and ported heads so surely I should have gained something. My heads are self ported but they were dynoed to gain 20 hp so they do flow better than stock heads.
The bottom of my new intake is flat. I looked it over real good before installing it and this is about the only difference I could see. I did use the plugs and coolant bypass tube.
99taws6,
Last night: 60' 1.675, 1/8 7.692 @ 90.10 mph.
Oct 16: 60' 1.659, 1/8 7.713 @ 90.19 mph
There has been no programming since the install. I had about 60 miles on the car with the new intake.

it will take around a couple of hundred miles to realize a difference bacause the computer has to get use to more air flow. it should be straightned out after 500 miles. I bought it off of Ebay. It is new and never installed and was sold as an LS6 intake.
Surely somebody can identify that number?

BTW- Where did you get it from; Miami Motorsports?
I have both intakes in the garage and it's neither one. GM did change the #, so it could be an older one.

If the bottom of the intake is flat then its an LS6 intake. I know that for sure. because the LS1 intake has a valley for tubes to run underneath it, you gotta drive it more so the PCM can get used to it.

I will give it a few more miles and then see what happens at the track. Sure would like to know what that part number really is first.
Don't you think he bought the LS6 intake in that box, put his stock LS1 intake in their and sold it?

That's why I am trying to find out about the number 12573572. That number is molded into the manifold. He didn't change that.
The manifold is flat on the bototm and some have said that only LS6 manifolds are flat. I still didn't gain any et though!
I just pulled mine out of the box and I have the same part number on my LS6 intake.

That's what I needed to know. I suppose I do have an LS6 intake. Is the part number an 88890524 on the box?
Now to find out why I lost et. As some have said, I may have tuning issues to deal with now.
Thanks!
