Default Air Conditioning

Having issues with the AC blows cold air fine but will only blow out of the defrost vent and floor. I have taken apart the controller mechanism everything looks fine. I followed the vaccum hoses to the source. One question I have is where is the vaccum comming from to supply these lines?

There is a very small vacuum line running from the back of the intake manifold. It is right below where the MAP sensor plugs in and points toward the passenger side of the car.

I stole this pic from Superman09.......

You can see the fitting for it right at the top of the question mark.

BTW - Have you removed your AIR system?

No the air system is still installed. Wouldnt the car run rough if this was unplugged?

I don't think that it would run rough really.

No it won't run rough. I had the same issue with my a/c. There's 2 area's you want to check. 1 on the back of the intake like the picture above. 2 on the passenger side of the engine bay close by the pcm. That vacuum line runs to a T connector in that area. That's where my was dissconnected.

jlrz28,

Were the three vacuum lines on your T connector actually all plugged in? I am having the same problem with my fan only blowing through the floor vents. Can that T connector actually go bad??? All of my connections are there...

One of them was cracked and when I went to push it back on it snapped off completly. The "T" part was only $1.87. Im not sure that it can just go bad....its possible but highly doubtful.

I noticed the check valve. I blew in the different holes thinking there might be something stuck in there that I could clear out...no such luck. None of my lines are cracked either, so I guess I get to rip into the air box to see if the vent is stuck.

If you've removed the A/C, yes, you can plug that vacuum line coming out of the back of the manifold.

my car's a/c is doing the exact same thing, but i'm having trouble locating the "t connector" everyone's talking about. I found a plug that was disconnected but it doesn't have a "t connector", it looks more like an "L". I'll put up a picture but everytime i do, its seems to disappear. If it does do that, the picture is at the site with the pictures of my car titled air conditioning problem. Thanks for any help
