Quieted down my bullets!
Well i have been trying to find a way to have a quieter exhaust but still be straight thru MAX performance. I was going to swap my bullets for some bigger mufflers:https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/496730-borla-xr1-s-dynatech-split-flow-mufflers.html.
Well i threw my T rex in last night and it was EXTREMELY loud. neighbor came out and told to to turn it off, it was almost 11:00.
This morning I decided to try something. I noticed back when i had my electric cut outs that when open it was still quieter than with no cut outs at all. So i figured the butterfly part of the cutout helped cut down the noise a little. Kind of smoothed it out if you will. So i cut a piece of .125" aluminum to two 11" x 3" slabs. i then bweat those into my bullets and put some turn downs on the ends. It helped out ALOT. Its still VERY loud, but its alot quieter than when i first started it last night. It sounds alittle louder than when i had the stock cam, but ofcourse now it has a SICK choppy idle.
Here is a few pics.

I bet its a bitch to start! My F14 would die about 12 times from my parking spot to the street when it was untuned.
I can't wait to see what kinda times you're pulling this year. What size tires are you running and what RPM were you crossing the traps? You had to have been running out of gear with even the stock cam.

I was running on my friends 28's with the stock cam and was crossing the traps at 122 right after my 6,000 rpm shift light came on.
I mostly do 1/8 mile on 26's though cause there are 4 1/8 tracks around here that are open all the time. once i get it tuned i'll have to hit up Ennis to get a 1/4 mile time.
Gotta see if the 26's can even hold this cam.

I'd be telling my neighbor to go engage in intercourse with himself if I were you... that'd help out with the whole noise problem. Good idea though on the bullet trick.

I think i'm going to buy some Magnaflow 4" x 9" mufflers to swap out for the bullets.

They'll definitely quiet your car down.
