More spark for higher hp/boosted applications. I like the way they look.

I have the Red MSD coils, but not the Katech valve covers nor relocate bracket, as shown in the 1st picture.

Instead I spray painted my stock valve covers Black.
Engine bay looks pretty nice with the setup.

But one day I would like to buy the Katech covers & coil re-location kit. But its a big chunck of change.

Hi
I have them. If you want HP per $ (wich most do) they are not a great deal. They do improve the engine performance:

better throttle response
less engine vibration
little more torque.

The biggest thing I noticed was way less vibration at all speeds. It was like a new set of plugs x 3.

Thanks JA

Paying to Play is the name of that game. If you have that kind of money and are not cammed I would do that first!

Hi

Can you actually do a cam for $600. I got a quote on a cam and I **** myself. However, these are CND $ and there are no real expert LS1 shops in my area. It means buying my own software and taking it to a seperate dyno shop for a tune. No one seems to have the software.

cam $400
spring/retainers $190
labor $600
HP tuners = $700
Dyno Tune = $500

Thanks JA.

Get a cam from the for sale section of this board. = $200-350
Springs, retainers, pushrods and oil pump can be found there too for less than what you will find new.
HP Tuners = $499.99 from what I have seen from some of the sponsors ----->

And you can install it all by yourself with the help of anyone for a good time and learning experience. Not hard, just takes some time.

FWIW: I did my first cam+pushrods+retainers+springs off this board for 450. I bought a new oil pump for $120 and installed the cam myself for free + an 18 pack .

I agree with orange peel, get a cam, you might gain 10 hp from those coil packs, plus there were several hundred threads here about the proformance versus the stock, there is a reason that guys here running 408's with ati's and over 600 hp are still using the stockers, and the reason is, they still have better things to blow 600.00 bucks on!!
