SLP y pipe worth buying?
If you are going towards headers in the future save the $. you will just have to get another y-pipe for the headers again.
Yes, it does increase performance. No, the y-pipe would fit with some headers but not all headers ofcourse.
If your looking for the most output of your exhausts then get headers (and y-pipes if possible). If you want a slight rumble with your exhaust with just a bit of extra horsepower go with the y-pipe. Make sure its a 3inch one by the way.
good luck.
PROS: Deeper tone..Not much but some.
CONS: Hangs about 3/4" lower to the ground than the stock Y-Pipe.
I didn't notice any changes in HP. I can say that the addition of the SLP Y-Pipe made my third gear scratches (M6) less pronounced. It seemed to take away something. I can still get them but now it's just seems a little milder than with the stock pipe.

Just make sure you use mandrel bent parts or you are actually losing flow.

<strong>just wondering what do u think is the slp y pipe worth buying ? any suggestions? will it make my car a little bit louder with the loudmouth exhaust?</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I got it !
It made 7 more rwhp for me, and yes it will make your LM louder ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
IMHO, for that kind of dough, the Y-pipe is not worth anything. The only possible place it might have an advantage is in Kalifornia where big brother won't let you have much, so every little bit helps.

When correctly installed the SLP Y pipe might cost 1/2 inch of clearance at most. The muffler should that did mine was very careful with rotating the pipe for best clearance and did an excellent job. It's never scrapped etc.
The SLP Y might be worth 2rwhp at most on a bolt on type car with stock cats. If you go with shorty headers and aftermarket cats it might be worth a little more on a bolt on car. On cam or heads and cam, or NOS cars it might help a little more maybe 5-8rwhp like SLP claimed.
