throttle body port gone wrong!!
ok i ported out my tb...2 problems.
1. i have a spot where i went to deep and have a hole in the wall, what metal putty can i use, and where can i buy it at?
2. in the how to port the tb it says dont lose the small silver washer on the tb, well mine fell out but i dont know where it goes, or if its a press on type washer to hold that shaft in place.
plz respond now! my car has been down for 2 days for this stupid 3 rwhp gain.

The washer presses on the end of the shaft, but the TB will work fine even if you leave it off.

I made a hole in mine as well. I just filled it with some red hi-temp ATV silicone I had in the garage its been on there for a good 8 months or so. It's totally noticably but it works, one day I will get around to fixing it the right way.

If you cant tig weld the hole shut get some metal epoxy like quick steel ive had it in mine for 2 years. The metal washer slips down over the throttle shaft below the tps sensor. It will probly be fine without the washer but if the blade starts sticking put it back on...

buy a new ported one from thunderracing and send the busted one back for the core charge refund, but take out insurance on the package with your old TB in it through the post office, then blame them for the damages.

ok well the hole is right befor the blade so i think ill be fine untill i can afford and new throttle body..
strange i started the car up and it camed like a race car even tho my car isnt camed. then it died, i started it the second time, reved at 1500 rpms for about 5 secs then went back to normal idle.
i took her around the block for about 5 min then came back and checked everything and seems to be fine. just need to fill that hole one day or get a new tb.
wont JB weld melt?
same as the metal putty?
also does that sauter stuff even stick to aluminum metals??
besides tig/aluminum welding, what are my other choices that are for sure to work?

Dude take it to a shop and have them tig weld it They can do it in like 5 minutes and they probably wont even charge you if they do charge you maybe 5 to 10 bucks. Just make sure the guy knows his stuff if not he will blow a bigger hole.

Honestly for the trouble of running around get someone in the sales section to get you a used throttle body. Get it, dont touch it, and have a sponsor port it for you if you want it done in the future. That way no more holes.

if you can't find someone to tig weld it, you could go to Lowe's or Home depot and get a tube of Oatey Epoxy Putty in the plumbing section, pay a little over $4 and patch it yourself. The stuff is amazing IMHO.
good luck!

Instead you just come across as a complete jerk / moron. I'm sure after reading your posts, a lot of sponsors and LS1Tech members will be eager to do business with you
