thanks for the replys. i think i'm leaning towards the xr-1. does anyone know how much the titanium ones sell for and where to get it? i didnt see one in my jegs catalog. also, does anyone have any sound files of how the xr-1 sounds? i've only heard the dynomax bullet.

if cost is no option I would go with the XR-1 titanium b/c it will be much lighter, comparatively speaking. But if cost is an option as is it was for me, go with the dynomax for $40. I don't have flow numbers but the XR-1 can't flow any/much better.

Re: Borla XR-1 or Dynomax Bullet??
I have dual exhaust, had Dynomax 3" bullets on there with dumps, it was basically 80% as loud as open headers, and it was pretty raw sounding. Sounded similar to a cutout. I got pulled over maybe the third time I had this setup. This setup was insanely loud going down the highway and everywhere else.
I then installed two 3" XR1 stainless mufflers, and the sound is more in line with what I was looking for... more of a tuned sound, maybe 1/2 as loud as the bullets, and probably about 99% of the same flow. I also did a 2.5" H pipe so that no doubt had an effect too.

That ground clearance looks pretty minimal!! I'm going with duals soon, and I like the idea of the Borlas being quieter. Has anyone noticed more/less ground clearance with these, over regular bullets??

Same height really...
Really it's just a matter of looking for the best spot to mount the mufflers and making sure that you are not near wires or lines that can melt from heat. I have never scraped the mufflers.

Re: Borla XR-1 or Dynomax Bullet??
Im getting those exact mufflers John has for Christmas. The reason is half the sound with the same power.
