Mine cost $110-$150 for a F-body or Truck, it doens't add any wear and tear on the car and if they are powder coated look good too.

I just did this (in the course of P&P).

I would recommend using a piece of brass or aluminum as a crush piece between the hammer
and shaft to avoid "mushrooming" the end.
It doesn't take a lot of force, just a
couple of sharp raps with the hammer.
Support the TB neat the shaft (corner of
kitchen counter was fine).

The throttle blade and accessories use small
Torx fasteners, T-15.

I scribed the shaft along the TB casting face
to indicate proper alignment on reinstall.

My plan though is to use my '02 shaft in this
'?? (old style, 6.0) TB so I reckon it'll just
be fit & wiggle until lined up proper.

Anyone know a source for replacement end seals
for the TB shaft? Does GM sell 'em loose?

Most guys get enough to increase the speed in the 1/4 by 1-2mph, so that's worth a pretty good chunk. I always say 5-10hp because that is reasonable.

Would someone care to explain how to remove the throttle shaft? I have tried, but no dice, what is the secret? I have completely disassembled carb before, so I know what to take apart ... but this thing is not as easy. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

Take the TPS sensor & blade out and just tap the end with a hammer.
