Default Pacesetters

What is the main difference between the painted and coated pacesetter headers? Is it just the heat and will the painted ones be fine on my trans am?

Coated will hold the heat better. Its just a good investment, go coated!

My coated pace setter headers look like crap now. The bottom half of the header is nothing but rust, and the coating is starting to rust farther up. Boy they looked good out of the box, but get a good look now because they won't last. I have had mine for 1 1/2 years now. If you can manage not to drive in anything but sunny weather they may last longer. Even though they were cheap and I was on a budget I wish I would have waited and got a pair of Kooks or something different at least.

I've had them both, and I won't touch another set of painted headers for as long as I live. Save some more cash and go with coated. You will not regret it.

I got the uncoated ones cuz thats all i could afford. I was under the car the other day doing an oil change and there really is no rust on them. But then again i dont drive the car in the winter or in the rain.

the coated headers will last longer and will also retain more heat so under hood temps will be alittle lower.
