Just be patient. They should go in without trouble. I have done two sets of QTPs and didn' t have problems. Just get the car high, and it should slip right in ;D

I did have to remove the oil filter on mine but some say you don't. No grinding on my car either. They fix great and don't rattle. Best headers I have ever owned.

I have been able to do it, now, without removing the filter, but, that was after I had done it already.

I didn' t have to grind my old standard QTPs, BUT, I had to with the new HVMCs. I had to grind below the #2 primary tube, on top of the K-member, but, oh well. It doesn' t hurt anything, and maybe my motor mounts are starting to sag a bit. But, it does not seem to be a common problem. Each car is a little different. That' s how GM makes them...

Hey guys! I got it on!!!

I had to grind the K member a little and a little square part on the block with a Dremel and a stone

Now I need a second pair of hands to help me hold the headers while I put the bolts in or the other way around

*Update*

Today I started working on the Driver side header and after much playing around I got a Dremel out and grinded the K member a little and a little block of metal on the side of the block to make it fit.

I will start putting on the Y pipe and tighten everything down and off I go for a quick testing

Default People with the QTP catted Y pipe come in!

Hows the quality of your pipe ????

I have a problem with the driver side cat. Its way too low and it hits on everything

It looks like the problem is at the Y merge collector, It seems like the tubing that goes to the driver side is pointing down too much.....

I really dont know what to do....... I cant drive it like this, it even hits when im on the freeway and there is like little coasters or bumps.....

Can you guys please post pictures of the catted Y or the exaust so I can get an idea of what to do ????

Thanks!

You need adjust the y pipe. If you doing this on your back with jack stands its really difficult. You need another set of hands to hold the pipes in place then you tighten the clamps down. If you doing this by yourself it wont sit right. Also the merger collector does not site flat. If you rotate it to the passenger side it will bring the driver side pipe up. You also can bring it to a muffler shop to have them adjust it for you and get it done. It might be easier that way. Like i said on your back is very, very difficult.

You can take the bolts out of the steering shaft (only like 2 of them), and try to slide it up or down so it'll fit better. You'll see a little adjustment area in the shaft right by the header.

The splined shaft on the rack has a slot for the bolt to keep it from sliding off, so it has to go in THAT spot.

Another idea is to, brace yourself, put a dent in the primary tube.

ever
all said and done (I know you are not done) would you install QTP headers again? I'm waiting for mine, but after reading posts here I'm thinking I may look at other options.
