Pacesetters: Ceramic or Painted? Hey guys, I know this topic has been discussed several times, but I wanted to get your opinions in regard to my specific situation. I will be purchasing long-tubes tomorrow more than likely. They will be the Pacesetters, but I am going back and forth between the ceramic-coated ones and the painted ones. I live in Buford, Georgia and I see snow maybe once a year. And even then, I don't drive. Also, since I live in Georgia, there is no salt from the oceans either. So would it even be worth buying the ceramic-coated ones? The only advantages I see over the painted ones is to prevent rust, which I will not see for quite some time I think. In my situation being a high-school student with limited funds, I think the painted is the right choice. But I don't want to screw up and end up having to purchase a new set in a couple years. What do you think?

The heat from the exhaust makes parts rust faster than normal (don't ask me why, I'm sure someone smarter than I can explain it.)

The coating isn't only for rust prevention, it's for thermal control too, helps keep the exhaust heat in the header, and not in the engine bay.

Well I really wanted to purchase everything from Summitt Racing since they are not too far away. But they have their coated-ones listed at $430 compared to Texas Speed's $375. I wanted to get everything from Summitt to avoid shipping, so with shipping from Texas Speed, would the prices equal out? For me to find out how much shipping is, I have to give all of my information and I don't really want to do that. My ZIP is 30518. Any ideas?

I don't mind going either route (T.S.P. or ByunSpeed), just as long as I can get my headers before, say, the 23rd. And free shipping is really the only thing that's keeping me from doing it. I'm going to Summitt regardless tomorrow though. I've never been there and it's supposed to be pretty awesome. If they can match the price, I'll just go with that to go ahead and have everything. We'll see.

this is why scientists find it unlikely that life exists in places in our solar system past mars. it's very, very cold once you reach jupiter and beyond. they think life won't exist not because it's too cold (as any lifeform could adapt to require a certain temperature to survive) but rather there is so little heat, chemical reactions take place too slowly to evolve into life over time (i.e. saturn's moon titan looks like a theoretical primordial earth, possibly containing liquid methane and has an abundance of organic particles that rain from the sky. however, the surface is -280 degrees Farenheit so chemical reactions would happen hundreds of times slower than on earth making evolution on titan unlikely.)

You don't have to pay tax when you order out of state either.
