If there is, please list the differences. Do they both give the same gain and are they built the same?

They are pretty much identical. You won't see any performance gain on one vs. the other. They both fit the same and have pretty much identical instructions.
The FTRA is the original modification to the SLP cold air induction. Whisper, as it is told, is the copy. Personally, I don't care who copied who. They both perform and fit well so it is a matter of which is on sale that week.

I've had both. Whisper on my '99 M6 SS, and FTRA on my '02 A4 SS. The Whisper had poor install directions, and I had to do some bending down in the hoodlatch support bracket area down low. Also, I had to enlarge some holes in order to make it fit up correctly. However, I feel it worked great. Bought the FTRA for the '02 car. Fit-up was perfect. Instructions were easy to understand. Performance same as Whisper. Phil Preddy's a good man--he runs the Fast Toys Sponsor. I highly reccomend him. WJ.

The SLP unit isnt quite as long as the FTRA, but that is good because you have less worries about sucking water up into the intake.

...That's also bad because it doesn't make as much power. I like the FTRA design much better than the SLP for that reason and I DON'T ford rivers!
