It has a smaller diameter and spins the accessories slower. Each revolution only moves the belt 75% of what it would have before, reducing the power used by the accessories 25%. It also extends the life of your accessories because they physically spin less times. The A/C compressor is not underdriven, and doesn't need to be, as it has it's own clutch.

Some people with big stereos or whatnot have charging issues, but 90% of all people have zero problems with it. In the even a problem arises, you can buy an OVERDRIVE alternator pulley to help get some of your lost power back.

The lighter weight of the pulley has nothing to do with it, contrary to what some people believe.

Do a search for brands, there are a bunch. After much research, I settled for an ASP with belts and have had no problems.

When most people say "underdrive pulley" they mean the CRANKSHAFT PULLEY. AKA The main pulley.

An OVERDRIVE crank pulley does not exist, only underdrive. There is however an OVERDRIVE ALTERNATOR pulley, made for people with big stereos and such like I mentioned already.

I don't mean to sound like a dick or anything, but you're going to have to do a little searching and reading. Reading the FAQ's in here as well as the new LS1 owners section will help alot. If everyone started a thread for every question they had, the board would be so blasted with new threads, that nobody's thread would get answered. I'm sure at this time, right now, there is 50 people searching and reading instead of posting. You will learn things MUCH faster this way, as all the information is already out there.

Also, if you ask a question in one of your threads that deviates from the original question, you don't have to start a new thread just to get it answered. If nobody responds bump it up to the top of the forum and wait longer.

Listen to Blur and go with whatever pulley you like the best.

Most popular seems to be the ASP.
