I have a mild bolt on 2000 Z28... SLP CIA, Whisper lid, and Borla Catback, what's the optimum gap? Thanks for your help!

Anywhere between .050 and .060.
.039 is too tight for that plug.

I went with .060 should I be ok with that? I have yet to start the car and can change them to .055 tomorrow if you guys think that will be better. I'm in no hurry... I have used both .055 and .060 and I didn't notice any difference. I wouldn't waste my time re-gapping if I were you. .060 is just fine, IMO. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

WOW! The passenger side is fun!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />
Just got to get the first and third plugs out/in and I will be finished. Had to raise the car and get the rear one on the passenger side out from underneath! I'm done for the night (no more light), so is there any trick to getting the first and third plugs out on the passenger side I should be aware of??? It's hard to get my arms in those tiny spaces between EGR and other ****.
<img border="0" alt="[guns]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_guns.gif" /> passenger side
<img border="0" alt="[guns]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_guns.gif" /> EGR

#8 is not so bad from the top if you take off the coil rail first. First time taking off the coil rail is a HUGE pain though due to the back rail bolt. Most people just toss that one in the trash. I've never seen anyone re-install it.
Also, make your life easy and pull the AIR line off the manifold, the gasket is only like $1. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Dealership will have it. For the small price of a new one, might as well go that route. Mine did not come in off useable condition, and I only had about 5500 miles on the car then....

I just changed my plugs/wires today!
Went with the TR55's (.055) & the MSD Super Conductor 8.5's!
I took off the EGR tube & lifted the coil pack's up. I too had to get the #8 out from the bottom.
Fairly simple! Insure that you use the "Anti seize" stuff on the plugs.
Good Luck!
Man this thing runs much better. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Don't see why you'd need to remove the EGR tube. Are you sure it wasn't the AIR tube you pulled?

I also had to go under the car for #8 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> . I did not even have to touch the coil packs or unbolt anything luckly. Plugs just needed some elbow greese to get out.
Got everything 100% perfect...
go to fire up the car...
still miss firing!
Guess I'm buying new wires tomorrow! And if that's not the problem, I assume it's the coil packs... right? At least the wires will be easy to change. By the way, I have 40,000 miles; is it normal for the wires to already be deteriorated?
