i will be on the bottle some too but my main goal is as fast as i can stock internal. 11.60's right now. I will be spraying some too so keep that in mind. 2.5in will give me no power but more torque right? what about 3in? i am making around 360+/370+ right now. this will be an X pipe too. should i go with the tradition bullet mufflers? i am not really a fan of being loud anymore but i know it will be loud still; should i go with borla xr-1's?
thanks
thanks

Jamie - I'm going to try a 3" to the X and out, and the reduce to 2.5" through Magfaflow Magnapacks - 4" diameter. Should be the best of both worlds, rwhp and rwtq wise. The MM mufflers will be quieter than the bullets, but still have straight through power. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I'll be posting how it turns out dyno and track wise, but that's a system you should think about. Mike(Beenfetched) was on the right path when he did the same thing, but chose the wrong muffler - the Flo-Pro. Live and learn.
Your peak gains might be minimal, but you should see a good gain in the midrange.

I have 3" to X, then 3" to the 2.5" eldebrock mufler. Fits up in there great. 3.6" case x 7". I wanted to quiet it down over the bullets. I got back the TQ I lost with the bullets. It didn't quiet it down as much as I wanted to, but much better that before. I'll deal with it now.
I already had 3" with the bullets, and thought the 2.5" would be quieter, so I just had the ends expanded out to fit the 3" pipe. I use band clamps, so I can take them off it I want, like when I'm going to spray the car.

I have 2-1/2 all the way to the x-pipe and then into bullits and turn downs. 3 inch is to much for a stock motor.

I'm going to an x-pipe setup soon as well. The car will have a 396 stroker, no power-adder probably within a year. I want to go over the axle with the tubing. Will 3" fit if I take out the upper panhard brace?

Jake yes it will fit.It is a bit tricky but you do have to remove the panhard brace.3" will fit it can be and has been done. You need to take your time when doing it.

From what we've seen on our systems, 2.5" and 3" make basically the same power on bolt-on cars. But, the 3" will really shine on heads/cam cars. We have a couple over 400 rwhp with stock heads.
