Default Deleting the AIR system...have ?.

I am currently running RT cats. When deleting the air injection system will it cause any problems w/ emissions? I know the only time the system is used at cold start-up.
TIA
Oh ya, does the air pump need to be removed along w/ the hoses/valves?

I have RT cats, and I removed my AIR system, but I haven't tried to get an inspection sticker yet, so I can't say for sure. I do know that on my EASE scanner, in the IM section, that the only test listed as "Incomplete" is the Catalyst test. I suspect the AIR system removal might be the cause, but I can't say for sure. I heard you don't have to have every test listed as "Complete" to pass, so I think it'll be okay as long as there's no DTCs, or obvious visual things like cat removal, etc.

If you do remove yours, you pull out all the hoses, plus the solenoid near the evap system, and the AIR pump near the driver's side front wheel.

It's on top of the driver's side coil pack in the back (near the firewall). With a little coaxing it will pull out without having to unbolt anything.

Thanks Predator. I'll check mine. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Don't forget to wrap silicone tape, or something similar, around the electrical connectors that you disconnected for the solenoid and the AIR pump.

Why worry about that if I am not going to use these parts ever again?

I mean the electrical connections, from the wiring harness, that plug into the AIR pump and the solenoid. I wouldn't want to get moisture in there as it might affect the entire electrical system. It's the same if you ever did the CAGS resistor mod (before LS1 Edit), you unplug the CAGS electrical connector and tape it up to keep moisture out. It's probably not that important, but I'd do it anyway just for peace-of-mind.

I see. I did do that with the !CAGS mod, because it is on the bottom of the car and could get dirt/water in there. Guess I just thought that with the others being in the engine bay they'd be OK. Thanks for reminding me.
