Best exhaust setup (with sound please)
Some say the GMMG sounds just as good.

I let a friend drive it while I was not in the car, and it just sounds amazing from the outside. Totally different than the inside. Has a unique sound that you don't normally hear LS1s make, and it has a deep growl when it's coming to a stop (when the car is having a bit of an engine brake going on from around 2500 down to idle)
This is my 6th or so exhaust setup on this car, this one is probably my second favorite. My favorite was actually duals with Flowtech Raptors, only because it was so quiet. I like the unique sound of the single chambers better though. If there's a way to get rid of that "flowmaster sound" at around 2400, this setup would be perfect IMO
The 'best' exhaust setup is pretty much personal preference, especially the sound portion.

I like my duals. Sometimes I think about buying an ORY, electric cutout, and a SLP dual/dual. That would be my choice if I was to get a y-pipe setup. Y-pips and such allow for better ground clearance, more suspension options, and more sleeperness.

Everyone is going to have their own personal preference to what the exhaust should sound like... so there is no "best" exhaust.
Some like it loud, others like it quiet.
Some like it raspy, others do not.
Some like drone, others hate it.
The key is to listen to different setups IN PERSON and decide which setup YOU like the best.
My personal car has longtubes, ORY, and a factory SLP dual/dual catback. It is quiet at idle and cruise, has a good tone at wide open throttle, has very little rasp, and flows well enough for my car to still make excellent streetable power with the 408. I'm also fitting the y-pipe for a 3.5" cutout so I can open it up when I want to pick up an additional 30+ horsepower N/A, or whenever I feel like spraying it. It also allows for decent ground clearance as my car is slammed.
For years I ran a longtubes/ORY/wide open borla. It was fun and loud... I simply outgrew it and the unwanted attention it attracted. I'm not a fan of any exhaust that exits under the car all the time, nor was I a fan of expensive headache plagued over-the-axle dual setups.
very very smooth sound, sex to my ears.

Best - price?
Best - fit?
Best - material?
Best - sound?
Best - performance?
Best - flow?
Best - appearance?
You are unlikely to find ONE exhaust to meet all these criteria.
Some say duals are best, and I agree they sound great but they are also a PITA if you plan on certian mods such as a body mounted torque arm.
Y pipes work and work well and in most cases will match any dual setup in terms of performance, yet they are generally easier to locate and fit and use less material so weigh a little less.
If you want proof, just look at the number of race cars (circuit/rally most often) that use Y pies instead of X or H pipes.
LG make arguably the best LT headers for Corvettes actually convert their own X pipe into a Y pipe for competition use. If it was detremental to performance they simply wouldn't do it:

So the "best" exhaust is what ever fits you needs the best.
