Default OEM Formula Exhaust??

I bought my '02 Formula a few months ago with 29K and the previous owner had put a Flowmaster exhaust system with 3" tips on it.

Does anyone know what this car came with OEM? (2 mufflers?)

Anybody have a pic of their exhaust system?

Thanks.

car came with a single muffler from the factory. Just a standard single inlet, dual outlet muffler with some fugly oval tips.

Exclamation

ALL F-BODYS came with what is called a " CROSSFLOW " muffler....this refers to a 1-inlet, 2 outlet muffler in exhaust circles.[except v6 and some '98's I believe]....... [no 93-02's came with more than 1 muffler][and awhile b4 that]

Flowmasters do not flow very well and cannot be helping your power much, I would recommend a hooker muffler, they flow very well and sound really good.

I like the sound of the crappy flowing flowmaster (aka Slowmaster). You could add an electric cutout in your Intermediate pipe (I-pipe) that runs beside your driveshaft and over the rear end. This will give you your nice sound, and nice power at the flick of a switch.

The hooker is a good choice, as is the magnaflow. Do some searches and check out LS1sounds.com.

There's also an exhaust review sticky at the top of this page.
