Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
i put on the loudmouth and slp y-pipe over christmas, and its freaking loud. its to loud in the inside of the car, but if your someone standing outside of the car it sounds like a race car. i just wish i could get my car to sound like a 5.0 with flowmasters.

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
If u want the sound of a loudmouth save ur money and go to ur local muffler shop and have them install a 3 inch y that is 12 inches long in place of ur muffler, do this with ur factory tail pipes and intermediate pipe. It sounds almost identical to the loudmouth just not as raspy cause it has no resonater. jmo

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
I don't think the Loud Mouth is too loud in the city or short trips. I've had it for over a year now. Sounds good to me with stock exhaust manifolds and cats. I can't say if I like it or not. I guess it's because I've gotten kind of tired of the sound. You get used to it and you always want something different later. But when I first installed it and started the car up I had the biggest smile on my face. The only thing that has started to annoy me lately that didn't before is the drone when your taking long trips. My ears hurt after driving for 2 hours around 90 mph. But I love the look on peoples faces when I pass them by.

I love mine, I put together a small video(3.3megs) of it at the track, cruising@55mph,taking off and cruising @ 35mph. Have fun making the decision.

I'm with bandit on this issue.I've learned to drive around it even with the A4.
My T/A is so stock looking that people thought it was a V6 Firebird,i wanted to change that image....and i did.

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
when i got my LM on i was expecting it to be really really loud from reading threads about it. it really isnt as loud as everyone makes it to be. it is much much louder than stock, but not that bad. inside the car doesnt bother me at all. i love the way it sounds inside. i have no problem hearing people talk. i guess its just personal taste.

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
Just find someone in your area who has it and go listen up(SOMEBODY will have this exhaust). You may or may not like the sound of an unmuffled exhaust on an LS1. But there is only one way to find out.
And I know exhaust sound preference is very subjective, but why on earth do you guys with the LM and no cats think your cars actually sound good?! That combo(along with Borla) is the sickest sounding V8 exhaust I've ever heard.

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
It really is all about what you like. I got the Loudmouth because it was only 300. I love the way it sounds. But, I figured if I din't like it, I could add a muffler and still be under the cost of most other ones. But, I have added nothing. I like it. Go for it.
