SLP LoudMouth too loud?

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
All depends on what you want??? Also, how are you going to run it?? With headers or not, with cats or not, inserts etc??? I have the Loud Mouth on one car and orla on another. I like them both, they sound totally different. It's all in what ya want.

I have the Loudmouth on my car and it is extremely loud, but i also have mac headers and y pipe, and i am sure that doesnt help. It sounds gross at around 2300 rpms... overall i wouldnt have it any other way =) i get alot of compliments and also a lot of attention from the frisco and plano police.

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
Take a megaphone, turn the volume all the way up and fart really hard and loud in it. You have just reproduced the sound of an SLP Loudmouth exhaust.
Now do that by a cop car and see what he thinks.
To answer your question, yes, it's too loud and it sounds like $hit.
Buy something with a muffler.

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
I have a loudmouth and have stock manifolds and cats. It's not that bad. It does drone around 2k rpms but you learn to drive around it where it ain't so bad. If your short on money, this is the exhaust to get.

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
O.K., Soon I will have a video of my car and what it sounds like. But as far as I am concerned I love it. Even with the LT and ORYP it sounds awesome, I have only had it for about 600miles but I have had to drive near police and though they have not stopped me I am thinking of it as soon as I see them. With the M6 I just shift at 1400 when they are around, other than that i shift at about 3100, this makes everyone turn and look. I love the way it sounds. Everytime I stand in it I know everyone hears me. I get beside someone waiting at the bus stop and I rev the engine, this makes them jump.
I would do it all over again, but now I want to get rid of my exhaust tips so I am going to get a True Dual. Also I love the way they sound to. I think that some of the house shaking drone will go away to. My neighbors might like me better.

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
Reasons to buy: If money is short, if you want a raw sounding exhaust, if you don't care how loud the exhaust note is, if you want comments on your exhaust system.
Believe me, I have it and love every minute I drive the car. Stay outta 2k rpms and you'll be fine. I have your same exahust set-up(stock manifolds and y-pipe) and sounds better than the flowmasters I used to have. I'll be adding headers soon so it'll be very loud w/ a ory-pipe. It's up to you. If you want something not as loud, I recommend buying corsa's exhaust if you're willing to pay the price.
Bottom line, I'll recommend it!!

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
I have a LM on mine and I love it! To the floor at high RPMs and it may be a raw sound but I can't get enough. The one down side is everyother month I drive to our Vacation home in South Carolina and in sixth gear on the highway, I want to pull my hair out after only an hour!

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
I thought that it was loud when I first bought it but after a short time, it doesn't sound loud anymore. I can talk and hear the radio without a problem but it is a little louder at around 2k rpm like everyone else says. At WOT it sounds like the world is going to end but that is the best part.
As far as being hassled by the police goes, as long as you don't do anything in front of them that you wouldn't do anyway, you should be okay.
I know that sound files are nothing like the real thing but if you want to hear my stock exhaust and the LM you can go to my website below.

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
If it gets too loud or you don't like the rasp get a bullit muffler in place of the Loudmouth's resonator.
I have the Borla XR-1 Sportsman Round #40086 (3-1/2") the 3" is #40085.

Re: SLP LoudMouth too loud?
my car has had a wide open borla on it for months and i rode in a friends 02 firehawk with a LM on it and i can say that the loudmouth is maybe 50 percent louder than my borla is on the outside but on the inside of the car its 150 percent louder. if you want loud but without much interior noise there are better options but if you want total unbridled screaming exhaust then loudmouth is your choice. i dont know how the dynomouth tames down the interior noise but that could be another option too if the resonance is too much for you.
