Default Dynatech headers who has??

Having. to post. with periods. because of run on. sentences. is absurd!!

All I wanted. to know is. if anyone. has these. headers. and if they. liked them. or not.

I have not yet. installed mine. because I have to get. the collectors.

I have a friend who has them, they sound really nice, he had to run open headers for a while, which sounded nice, he couldn't find an exhaust shop to make him a 4" Y...

I like mine alot. Getting them to not leak is going to be key.

Fireball (Brian) has them too

i have them as well. they are by far the easiest headers to install(that i know of). only have to remove the oil filter on drivers side, and the pass. side slides right in. make sure you cut your oil drain plug. i had to cut mine right up to the threads and its still a tight fit. and make sure you have a BFH with you also. lots of banging to clear the body. as far as sealing the collectors....mine are as tight as a dolphins butt . i cut the collector right where the tubes slide into the collector. then welded the primaries to the collector on the inside. then took the dremell and cleaned up all the welds. then welded the collectors back together. but dynatech does sell a weld on collector. how well it works, dont know. but i think there is someone here that has those and liked them.

I using a slip on collector the coating, the fit is tight to start with, but over time, they will leak. I used "Ultra-Copper" and gooped up the insides, and then tapped them on with a leather hammer. With both U-bolts in, they stay pretty tight. Over time, mine did begin to leak when cold, but once it warmed up it was fine.

As far as getting a weld on collector, get the LTs uncoated, weld them up, and send them off to the coater. Little more time and $, but no leaking problems!

mine sound real nice, flow great, make great power, but leak like a ****. i have tried everything and later this year i will have them pulled off and weld them on.

if it is a daily driver, i would not mess with it and go with a hooker header. dynas are really easy to install though. if you are sensitive to smell, dont go here or work on them before you put them on.

Got a set here. Absolutely no banging to make fit, no leak's(knock on wood), no cutting of anything. Most important GREAT POWER, trick is getting the right merge collector throw out the dynatech collector's. Car is a daily driver with no header issues. Hand's down, Dynatech's are the right choice IMO.

Yankee, what collectors do you have? If I can ever get a set of these; I was thinking of just getting a good Hooker 1 3/4" to 3" collector and just have that welded onto the headers. Those are only $75 for BOTH sides .

Awesome, thanks guys!! They are gonna go on my 01 SS, but its not a daily driver anymore. I was planning on getting the weld-on collector and I still also have to get the install kit. Im glad to hear that they are easy to install, as I will be doing them myself, but luckily have access to a facility with a lift, which hopefully will make it easier!
