Power steering whining

Power steering whining After I turn the wheel real hard the power steering box whines real loud for a few miles. I checked the fluid and it looks clean and full. What else could be wrong. Oh and I have been voided (powertrain only) at the dealer for my modifications.

Re: Power steering whining Its normal when cold, but an underdrive pully ( such as the ASP, or LG for the LT1 cars) will slow the pump down- extending the life of it.
If it does it all the time, its usually a sign that it will die eventually. Ive gone through 5 of them Road Racing my car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

the power steering pump. I had to replace mine in June because it whinned all the time. If you can't get the origanl dealer to take car of you, go to a diffrent one. This is not affected with the parts you have on your car!

Re: Power steering whining when im backing out of my driveway,about every quarter turn, it makes this clicking sound. When im going slow around a turn, my rear end is making this grinding whinny sound, what could that be???????? thanks

Re: Power steering whining I had to take it to them to replace a valve spring and thats what voided the powertrain. I don't think they know exactly what was done to the car but they know it has been modified. The whine only comes on when I turn the wheel hard and fast, under normal driving and turning its silent.
