Default worth the price?

Is it worth the extra $1000 to get qtp headers and ypipe with electric cutoff over pacesetter headers and tsp y pipe? I'm stock right now on an 02 z28(5.7l a4) Plan on porting the tb, lid, maybe cai. Will get something like a 2500 stall, 3.73 gears, and a cam and heads later. Trying to stay street friendly and still have some giddy up ya know.

The QTP headers are usually chosen because of the stainless steel construction and maybe a little more HP/TQ from the now included HFMC. If you want budget then the Pacesetter setup is fine.

If you want to install and forget, then get a QTP setup. The electric cutoffs are nice but you will be paying alot for what some will claim a minimal gain. Might go duals or a nice flowing catback instead...

I think you are the only one who can answer this question. First thing I would do is forget about the dual cutouts, especially on the QTP y-pipe. That usually spells hell with groundclearance for little performance gain and a rediculous amount of noise.

You're mostly paying for the differnce in material
Do you want a set of headers that likely will last longer than the car, or do you want a set that will eventually rust and require replacement, the choice is yours

Pacesetters are a fine header. I would take that route unless I won the lottery.

ya the ball is your court man... you get what you pay for, some cheaper pacesetters will see their days and the qtp's will still be there when it's your day

Go with the QTP headers. Besides the better material you are getting more power out of the headers. The HVMC gives an across the board gains. And the more mods you do the better the gains. And the QTEC is not bad on clearnce. Its tight when you have a really low car. Seen them on some by me that are not dropped and they have fine clearance.
