New LS1 Induction for F-bodies!

Re: New LS1 Induction for F-bodies!
I apologize for not getting back with everyone sooner. I tried three different times to post up, but PSJ was working his magic on the board. Then it was timing out, so I couldn't win for losing.
The lids are in fact both glued and welded. The adhesive agent is actually more of a chemical welding agent; it more or less fuses the pieces together. The edges of the seams are welded on the black lids, but the other finishes are unfortunately not conducive to the welding process.
There should not be any problems with the WS6 hoods. There are some design differences that should leave more clearance over other brands, but there is a slight possibility that there is one spot that may rub lightly. We have not seen this on the ones we've tested on WS6-equipped cars, but each car does vary slightly. If we start to see some problems with this, we will see what we can do to correct it.
The current lid will not slip over the larger 85mm MAF, so you would still have to use the adapter hose to connect the two. However, it looks like there is enough demand to warrant a lid for the larger MAF's, so I will see what I can do to get one made for you guys and girls. I will keep everyone posted on this.
We do warranty the lids so long as it is due to a manufacturing defect. If you drill holes in it for nitrous use and remove it two dozen times in a weekend to jet up, then we would not be able to cover it. That would be considered abnormal use that the lid was not specifically designed for.
FYI, we will have the clear, clear smoked, and carbon fiber lids in stock by the end of this week for those of you that have been holding out for one.
DroptopSS - I sent you a PM back and also left a message at the phone number you gave me. We can get you a plain, black lid without a decal with no problem. Just call me back, and we will get one coming to you.
MasterJam - no disrespect taken at all You ask a valid question. You're totally right that physics can be wacky. Our initial flow numbers show a lot of promise. We will have a car on the dyno this weekend testing our lids against others, so stay tuned.
Thanks!
Trevor

I would also like to see some pics of the smoked clear lid. Also, would the clear style lids be as strong as the black plastic??

Fits under the WS6 hood? Looks Good!
If you ask me. You don't want the MAF "inside" the Lid neck.
I like the fact that my 85mm MAF is flush with the Air lid neck.

They're slow to get the clear and smoked clear lids finished, but I will have pictures shortly of both of them so everyone can see exactly what they look like.
You should not have any problems at all with the clear or smoked clear lids with normal use. Again, if the lid is used for its intended purpose (i.e. not drilled for nitrous use, etc.), then you should not have any problems. We back the lids with a warranty, so you could call us up if you ever had a problem.
You can e-mail or call me with questions as well. 806-785-8408
Thanks!

Re: New LS1 Induction for F-bodies!
Got mine the other day, and put it on the car yesterday afternoon. Wow, does it ever fit great! My old lid never did sit right, and was coming apart at the seams and being held together with orange RTV!
I haven't driven the car yet, as it's still on jackstands while I battle a very annoying oil leak.
Thanks again, Trevor!!!!

George - I'm glad that you got the lid and you like it. They're a nice, snug fit.
Update on the 85mm MAF lids --- We are getting a prototype made, and I should have one to test out on my car in the next week or two. If we are pleased with the fit and finish, then we will be ready to start offering the black lids with a larger opening for the 85mm MAF's! At that point, we will put some induction packages together with a K&N filter, induction lid, and 85mm MAF.
Also, we can sell the lids with a new IAT sensor and rubber grommet for those of you that do not want to pull it out of your current lids. A new rubber grommet and IAT sensor will add $17.99 to the price of the lid. Just let me know when you place your order, and we will install it for you.

Re: New LS1 Induction for F-bodies!
Just wanted to ask about this lid with a tnt kit? Since you have to trim back the lid in order to accomodate the tnt ring will the opening in the lid become too big for the mass air sensor? Also on most aftermarket lids the stock sensor seemed to push the joints apart causing them to crack at the seams.
