Thanks for the responses. The response has been OUTSTANDING! I have replied to every e-mail I have received, so please send another one if you have NOT received a response from me. We did receive an order yesterday, but all of those lids have been pre-sold. I am working down the waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis, and I will e-mail you when we have a lid ready to ship out to you. I really do appreciate everyone's patience. We are working hard to get everyone's order filled.

I would also like to stress that you WILL get the introductory price of $89.99 for the black lid and $129.99 for the clear and smoked clear lids so long as you contact me via e-mail or phone by today, March 14th at 6:00 pm. The cut-off date must begin sometime, so please get in touch with me if you would like in on the special pricing. I just need your name and/or e-mail address and the lid you are interested in purchasing. As soon as I have one in stock for you I will get in touch with you. You have under 6 hours to get in contact with me, so you'd better hurry!

The 85mm lids are coming along. I received a prototype yesterday, and the fitment looks great. The lid will be designed to slip over the MAF sensor just like our current lid slips over the stock MAF sensor. Pricing has not been set just yet, but I will post it soon, along with a pic of the lid connected to an 85mm MAF sensor.

We will be getting various dyno results over the next few weeks, so don't think that we're done with our testing. The cars will range from stock LS1's to bolt-on cars to another heads/cam car. These results will be on customers' cars across the nation and on different chassis dynos. I'm not sure what you consider "unaffiliated" with Texas Speed & Performance, but that's about as unbiased as you're going to get. We're not looking to lie about dyno results. We are wanting everyone to know exactly what they're purchasing and what they can expect. This lid will work better and better as you add more power to the engine.

Thank you to everyone for supporting us, and please be patient if you are waiting to receive an induction lid. It will be worth the wait.

Thanks!

Trevor,

I am very interested in the "induction package" you mentioned in one of your posts. As I recall you mentioned an 85mm lid, calibrated 85mm MAF, ported TB and K&N filter would be offered at a special price. Do you have any info on the actual dollar figure and availability for this package? Actually, I do not need the filter, would a package deal be offered without the filter? Also, you had mentioned that a review may be published of your induction system, any idea when this would be available?

It looks like you have a real hit on your hands, congrats.

so the smoked lid will work with the slp 85mm MAF but an adaptor is needed? where can I get this adaptor and if I use an adaptor doesn't it pretty much make the 85mm MAF useless? I really want the smoked look but also want to get the most out of the SLP MAF.
Thanks

You don't really need the 85mm version for the SLP unit. All the adaptor is, is a short length of hose that connects the lid to the mass air. The 85mm lid connects directly to the mass air, the regular lid and the SLP mass air are basically the same inside diameter. If you get the 85mm lid, it's inside dia. will be slightly larger than the mass air so it can slip over the unit and clamp on. Basically no difference in dia. 1/2 a mm or so max. Just a cleaner more sanitary way of connecting the lid to the mass air.
BTW, the SLP mass air didn't do doodle for me. How bout you?

Thanks for the replies guys. I have an 85mm prototype lid in my hands right now, and the fitment looks excellent. I hope to have some in stock in the next two weeks. I will be posting pictures later this week, along with complete pricing on the lid and all associated packages that we will offer.

I appreciate everyone that is patiently waiting. I have a HUGE shipment of black lids being shipped to me tomorrow, and I will have them by Friday. So, I will be shipping out a LOT of black lids on Monday. I will e-mail everyone that is on the list as soon as I have confirmation that the lids have shipped out to me.

Here's a link to a thread of some track results vs. the stock induction lid. He is in no way affiliated with Texas Speed & Performance. He simply placed an order and paid $89.99 like everyone else did on the special. Track Results from TSP Lid. The MPH is the best indicator of horsepower, and he gained over 2.5 MPH from just the lid!

Thanks!

You can't do a comparison on 2 different products on 2 different nights. It doesn't work that way.

Not trying to be a nay sayer, because I like your product and as soon as you have some more in and e-mail me I will be placing my order. But I hardly call that a viable test. When I get mine I will do a track test between my current lid (Direct Flow) and the TSP lid on the same night, under the same conditions.

Trevor, looking forward to that e-mail telling me I can go ahead and place my order!

Thanks!

Brian

Brian,

I totally agree that the best results come from doing back-to-back tests. We will have some track results this weekend with back-to-back testing. However, the gain is still pretty decent considering that the D.A. was -64' on his runs on Feb. 28th and it was +1,225' on March 14th.

Expect an e-mail very soon!

Trevor, please don't forget about my carbon fiber lid. I talked to you a few times on the phone and also replied to you before the deadline. I didn't know if you had to email me for actual confirmation. Thanks again and patiently waiting.

I'm really in need of a new lid, since the neck on my current one is developing little cracks.

Any idea when the new lids will be available?

I think I may have acidently ended up with a 85mm lid, it doesn't fit on there tight like it should. Trevor, did you get my email on this?

What kind of gains might be seen from a cam and heads car already over 400 at the tires? I have seen parts pick up (for talking purposes) 10rwhp on a stock car but when you try and do the same mods to a car that already has good mods, less than 5rwhp. I guess what I am trying to say is that, is 89.00 going to be worth the 3 or 4 hp it would pick up over my current lid?

I am shipping out 40 black lids this afternoon, and I do hope to receive another 40-50 lids later this week to continue filling the back-orders. You will receive an e-mail or phone call as lids become available. If all goes well, I should be contacting another 40-50 of you this week.

Lynda - Yes, it sounds like you were sent a prototype 85mm lid. The lid should fit snugly onto the MAF. I e-mailed you back, and I will have another lid shipped out to you this afternoon.

For those of you on the list for a carbon fiber induction lid, I will be contacting all of you soon. I will hopefully get a definite shipping date on these today or tomorrow from the manufacturer.

Thanks!

Trevor, from what it sounds like, the bellows is no longer needed, is this correct? And if so, how is the lid secured to the MAF?

Also, does anybody, maybe you Trevor, or anybody else, have pictures of an installed lid, preferably a clear one?

Default Re: New LS1 Induction for F-bodies!

I apologize for not getting back to all of you. We have been going through a few technical difficulties recently. The manufacturer of our induction lids decided to make changes to the design of the lid on our most recent batch without telling us. I first found out about the changes yesterday afternoon after speaking to the manufacturer about fitment problems! The changes sounded good to them on paper, but they were NOT good changes in reality. The changes have made the lids hard to clamp down, and the neck that connects to the MAF sensor is out-of-round. ALL of our customers that have already purchased an induction lid from us are being contacted today. The first batch of lids that we received were flawless. I have one of these on my car, and the fitment is nothing less than perfect. This is what we want our customers to have, and this is what they should expect! One of the main goals of our new induction lid is better fitment. The original design definitely had better fitment, but this newest batch does not. It was easy to see the problems when I tried to bolt on one of the newest lids onto my car. To say I was shocked and mad is an understatement! We do expect to have the problem remedied ASAP, and all of you that have had problems with one of our lids will be refunded the added shipping costs and also receive 5% off of your next purchase from Texas Speed & Performance. We want to keep our customers happy. Mistakes and problems do arise; after all, we are only human. It's how we respond to these mistakes and problems that make the difference. Every customer will be taken care of and WILL receive another lid that fits like it should...perfect!

On a more positive note, we should have some 85mm lids in stock and ready to ship next week. Those of you that are on my list for an 85mm lid will receive an e-mail from me, and I will also be posting up pictures by tomorrow. They will be offered in black and carbon fiber.

We will also be e-mailing everyone on our list that has yet to receive a lid. The black induction lids have been VERY popular, so it is taking some time to fill all of the orders. If you do not receive an e-mail from us today verifying that you are still on the list, then please call or e-mail us. You WILL still get the introductory pricing if you are on the list.

We will be getting more dyno results in the upcoming weeks on customers' cars in various parts of the country. Our new shop is also nearing completion, and we hope to have our dyno in the ground and running in the next month or so. We will post results as we get them, so stay tuned.

Please give us a call at 806-785-8408 if you have any questions or concerns. You can speak with Brian or me when calling. He is our newest salesman that will be helping out quite a bit with internet sales.

Thanks!

Trevor
