Default 3 inch true duals

Holy **** is it loud... It's for some reason louder than my friend's set up. Do they get quieter over time or does the owner just go deaf after a while? I was thinking of getting some cats over the next month or so and was wondering if this would quiet it down? If anyone can suggest some mufflers to help kill the sound that would be appreciated too, thanks.

They may mellow out a tiny bit, but they will always be loud (depending on your mufflers). You should get used to it after a while. As for cats...don't do it unless you have to (because of e-check).

I have some bullet mufflers with some spiral looking **** inside them, can either of you guys recomend a muffler with be sound deadening? I dont mind the sound of the car I just think its a bit much when 1500-2000rpm sounds like WOT.

Ditto that!

Also Borla XR-1 is fairly mellow as well.

Both the Magnaflow and Borla are great choices. I tend to like the manflow a tiny bit more.

They made mine much quieter and didn't cost any noticable HP on my system, you shouldn't believe the hype. Dual 3" in/out high-flow cats are the hot ticket untill you hit 450+rwhp N/A, maby even more.

I would leave the system alone and drive it for a few weeks before you do anything. When I put my TSP duals on with bullets (traditional straight through), I wanted to take it off the next day because it was so incredibly loud.

The mufflers you have are probably Moroso Spiral Flows or Pro-Flo Twisters. They are reguarded as a decently quiet "bullet style" muffler, even though they aren't really "bullet style".

Convert to an over or under the axle setup and it will help quiet it down. Caats will quiet it down, but it will lose the agressive tone too.
