Yes. I swapped the ported one on and I immediately noticed a difference.

My exhaust a little more throaty. I dunno could be just me. But also moving from a stop was alot easier. It wanted to go more. Much better throttle response.

Ive seen a few ported too much by the blade and it messes up the idle because more air is getting around the outside of the blade. The HP gains are minimal at best on a ported throttle body.

Oh yeah... it wasn't posted on the internet so it must not be true.

I have personally seen a number of cars with ported throttle bodies with nothing but problems. Put the stock throttle body back on and the problems magically disappear.

They were ported incorrectly, send it to a pro that sponsors LS1TECH if you do not feel up to the job. My link is pretty easy to follow if your a mechanicaly inclined do-it-yourselfer

I guess nobody should put a cam in their car because they might forget to put the timing chain on too? They might also leave a ratchet under the valve cover? Might want to keep away from tires and wheels because you might forget the lugnuts? I've heard changing the oil is bad too because the plug might fall out.

Anything that is screwed up as a soup sandwich is going to have ill effects, this is what we call a given. A throttle body ported CORRECTLY and CAREFULLY is a great mod, which should also be a given.

I just did mine too and it wasn't very hard to me. Just do like they said and STAY AWAY from the area where the blade seats. I also noticed a nice improvement in throttle reponse. I think it's well worth it.

My best so far in the 1/8 is an 8.63. That's with the 20's on it. I think I can get it down to a low 8 with a few minor alterations.

Yeah... ok. Yeah... bigger is always better with you guys. Might as well put a huge cam in the car. Better put a 5000 rpm stall in there while your at it. Put a 4.56 gear in the rear end too. It's an LS1 afterall.

That has nothing to do with porting a TB to get better throttle response and a little more power.

I purchased a ported and polished TB made my SLP. Its great. It opens the complete 90 degrees. and is ported on both sides of the blade. Any shop that does ports head can port the TB. Or just upgrade to an aftermarket and sell your stocker on Ebay. Better throttle response! Especially with the blade opening the complete 90 degrees. The stock one opens up about 75-80 degrees and creates some turbulence.
