Worried about Raspy Exhaust? > Try the SLP dual/dual
Most people already know that the SLP dual/dual cat-back flows very very well for a stock location exhaust system. In fact, it may just be the one of the best bolt-on "stock type" flowing systems avail. However, many won't purchase it because it's too quiet.
Well, the dual/dual is music to the ears when used with a set of long tube headers. I have the SLP dual/dual exhaust system with FLP LTs and the FLP cats, so I can't comment how it will sound without cats. I may one day install the off-road pipes just to see how it sounds without cats, but I can tell you, the system has a real nice sound with cats. And, I would bet that it would not have an noticeable rasp without the cats.
Has anyone tried the dual/dual [no-cat] Long Tube setup here?
I'm happy; I knew this quiet dual/dual system would really shine once I put the headers/cam/heads combo on the car!

I have heads and cam with a 4" mufflex and spintech. It's sooo damn loud. I also have a SLP Dual Dual laying around... I wonder if I put it back on, how much horsepower i'll lose.

As an aside: Has anyone figured out a way to make the muffler, tailpipes and tips look presentable on these systems? I really like the design and sound, but man does that 400-series stainless look like ***...

Re: Worried about Raspy Exhaust? > Try the SLP dual/dual
I am probably one of the only guys in the country who has taken steps to quiet down an SLP dual-dual! When I got my HP up around 360, I started to notice a rasp when I downshifted or backed off the throttle at higher RPMs. I had an 18" Dynomax bullet welded into the I-pipe, & the rasp went away.

Re: Worried about Raspy Exhaust? > Try the SLP dual/dual
The SLP dual dual is seriously underrated for performance. Maybe it's too quiet for cars with stock exhaust but when you start adding H/C headers, off road Y's and such it does come into it's own for toning the exhaust note down. Most people with H/C wouldn't want it because they think it'll restrict the performance somewhat (most will) but it's music to your ears to just sometimes listen to the radio.

I'm seriously considering now putting the dual/dual on my car in replacement for the mufflex 4" with spintech.
I'm scared of losing hp, but it would be damn nice to have a quiet car !

Re: Worried about Raspy Exhaust? > Try the SLP dual/dual
I have a similiar setup on my car. Love it, pretty tame when cruising, and has a nice roar @ WOT. SLP LT's, CATS, Factory Dual/Dual, MTI B1.
I'm curious if I'm losing power with the Factory Dual/Dual, and should switch to the Aftermarket Dual/Dual? Any Opinions?

Re: Worried about Raspy Exhaust? > Try the SLP dual/dual
How would the dual/dual compare to the SLP 2OTL? I would figure that the 2OTL would flow a little better being the same basic design, but with a smaller muffler and less turns for the exhaust to make. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Re: Worried about Raspy Exhaust? > Try the SLP dual/dual
I've heard the dual/dual(any many other set-ups) and it is the least raspiest sounding cat-back I've heard yet on an LS1. In fact, if there was rasp, I didn't really hear any. For some reason, that SLP muffler does a nice job of smoothing out the tone of off-road pipes.

Re: Worried about Raspy Exhaust? > Try the SLP dual/dual
The SLP dual/dual has been dyno proven to be one of the best flowing mufflers out there. Flows almost as well as cutout. Sounds great too. The only downside I have heard of (other than the tips) has been it is heavy. I have considered dropping my Borla for the dual/dual.
