Default Emissions question.

I got rid of my AIR... And soon EGR.... I'm getting the offroad pacesetters and with catted y-pipe.. I should still pass emissions right????

You'd fail the visual but you should pass the sniffer if you got it tuned correctly since your cats would still be doing all the work.

Depends on the sniffer test and how tight the limits are. I just etested mine on Friday. I have the Pacesetter/TSP catted y and all the stuff that you deleted. I passed but barely. I was only 2ppm under the Nox limit. I think the small cats that the TSP Y uses are not very good for the sniffer, depending on what they test for in you area. I am told they do not have Nox beds or something in them. My buddy tested with Macs and Magnaflow full sized cats with a 220/224 114 cam and passed with flying colours.

What other options do I have then... I still want the offroad Pacesetters. But what kind of cat setup and y-pipe should I do?? What do you guys do for your DD that has to pass emissions?

FL doesn't have emissions. Some people swap out the exhaust just to pass. Others have better cats, while others have a hell of a tune.

I thought all the new emissions testing was all plug in...here in Chicago they scan obd2 to see if you are throwing any codes, only 95 and under cars do the sniffer test. So if I were to get some headers and delete all those codes would I be able to pass the obd scan?

Depends on the area.

If your area is just scanning for OBDII codes, you should be able to pass if you don't have any problems in that area.

I would go with an ORY pipe. Then buy some Magnaflow cats, the proper size and have them welded into the Y. I have to retest in 2 years time, after a cam swap. Here in Ontario they are thinking of going to the plug in test for 98 and and up. If that is the case I'll keep the TSP catted Y. If not, I will either have to change the cats out or I'll sell or trade the catted Y for an ORY and weld in bigger cats.

So say I were to get a dynamaxx system and keep all the o2 in place...etc....the car should pass if its not throwing any codes? Sorry to hijack the tread here....

Most places will not notice that th e AIR/EGR is missing. You have to understand that not everyone knows what's what under the hood of one of these cars. When bubba-blue looks under the hood of "Dat dar compooter cuntrolled auto-mow-bill" to do the inspection, he won't know the difference.
