What mods are actually worth doing?

What mods are actually worth doing?
I have a 98 ss with the m6 and am looking for my next mod. I already have the loudmouth, ftra, pro-5 shifter, cags and am getting the texas speed and performance lid. What do you think my next mod should be. I was thinking ported mass air flow sensor ends or pulleys. Does anyone have any track results or hp gains with these. Any other mod suggestions would be great. I dont want to dip into the engine yet. Just some mods that will give me some nice gains for cheap, well not cheap, but decent price.

I would do an underdrive pulley. I got about a tenth off my quarter mile times with this mod. As for maf ends, I wouldn't do those unless you get LS1Edit or a maft because you can't get the maximum out of the maf without some tuning. After that I would think about headers but now you're talking a good chunk of money.

Home-ported TB if you're up to it, TB bypass
and bump stop / cables while you're at it.

4.10s would be a good mod since you've got the M6. I run Nittos in the summer and if you can prevent wheelhop, the gears will last. I've had mine for close to 4 years and they're still as quiet as the day I had them installed.
I bought GM gears and had a friendly dealer install them. Haven't had any issues.

Are the gains noticable form the ported throttle body? I want a mod where I can actually notice a differnce in power but nothing to the extreme ...yet at least

The free mods are pretty cheap <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />
That and you can remove the cats and that should show a pretty good gain with little money spent <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Yes they are cheap. I just dont want to go spend my money on stuff and it doesnt do me any good.Like for instance the mass air flow sensor. I have heard people actually lost power with them

I did the MAF ends and removed the MAF screen. I noticed a nice little gain towards the top end. I haven't had my car tuned or anything and don't have LS1edit so I don't know exactly what my air/fuel ratio is with the ported ends, but i don't regret doing them.
