The x looks good visualy, but the design is bad. Not enough CSA between the pipes. It's just going to ram the exhaust pulses together. There needs to be a chamber so to speak for it to really work to its potential.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about

Installed my headers and made a magnamouthtwo months ago, see link. (Magnamouth from Loudmouth Conversion)

Well yesterday I went over some ghetto speed bumps (the ones that they rebar in the ground) and the last one I went over was sticking up a little bit more than the others and going over it at 4 mph jerked my whole car backwards ripped out my magnaflow muffler and destroyed my lm1 set up crushing the axe bend pipe. Couldn't believe it did that much damage from hitting the band clamp. So instead of buying a new LM1 and having it welded rather than band clamping it again I went to a local shop and had them quote me for true duals. At first he wouldn't consider it then I pulled out some pictures from SIK02SS's set up. And he shrugged and said "okay I guess I can do it". Quoted me at 450 for total install including x pipe.

Bottom line is should I buy another magnaflow bullet to go along with the one I have now or run straight pipes with an x in the middle? I had to drive the car open at the y pipe merge to the muffler shop and I couldn't stand the rasp, but will it loose that if I run straight duals back? OR do you guys recommend putting in the dual magnaflow bullets.

this is when i find a new shop. if someone is not confident enough in his own work THE FIRST TIME I ASK, don't trust him. don't let some inexperienced person practice on your car. who cares if he has 35 or 40 years of muffler welding experience? my car has lots of scars because i insisted it can be done, here's proof!. one of the idiots even cut a hole thru the bottom of my car!

somewhere Kooks says their true duals eliminate rasp because it's true dual, so i would assume it's all true duals.

What makes it funnier is when I opened my door to look at the damage my magnaflow muffler went rolling by me. Quite honestly, I'm excited because I convinced the wife to let me get true duals.

I was scarred at first but I live in a VERY small town that the only reason its still here is because of the small military installation. I would have to drive an hour and a half to the nearest decent sized city. Someone referred me to the shop because they are the only custom exhaust shop around and they showed me the work they did on their car and I was pretty impressed. VERY Clean welds. I ended up buying another Magnaflow exhaust and took pictures of blackbird0230's setup with the magnaflows welded up on hangers. I'm going to show him thats exactly how I want it, plus hes doing it on my day off so I plan on either hanging out at the shop and watching him or riding around in the wifes car and checking back periodically.

Talking True duals here

I fabbed up early first gen f-body dual set up on my car using Kooks headers with off road y-pipe.Installed Magnaflow true x,then took 2 original 4th gen intermediate pipes, cut and reversed bends on driver side,re-welded,then plumbed into transverse muffler. I did install resonators before the magnaflow tips to tone down, but man does this thing sound angry when i drop the hammer and grab the next gear just before hitting the 7200 limiter

Hey guys. Been mulling over doing true duals (always loved the sound, not super crazy on clearance with our crappy roads here).

If I wanted to do long tubes and an X pipe (catted now/later), could they be cut such that they would meet my Magnaflow catback that I have now?

I really like the pricepoint on TSP's X pipe and 1 7/8 Headers. I'm wondering what the total cost would be like if I were to grab the X pipe and headers ($1000) plus install them and keep some of my current sound.

Also, how will the drone be (if you could describe it, haha)?

* I would want over axle, and all the way back. Cats not super important as long as they could be welded in later.
Ideally, TSP Headers ----> X Pipe -----> Magnaflow
