True Duals, questions answered here. Post YOUR information and pics too!
#1122
Hey guys. Been mulling over doing true duals (always loved the sound, not super crazy on clearance with our crappy roads here).
If I wanted to do long tubes and an X pipe (catted now/later), could they be cut such that they would meet my Magnaflow catback that I have now?
I really like the pricepoint on TSP's X pipe and 1 7/8 Headers. I'm wondering what the total cost would be like if I were to grab the X pipe and headers ($1000) plus install them and keep some of my current sound.
Also, how will the drone be (if you could describe it, haha)?
* I would want over axle, and all the way back. Cats not super important as long as they could be welded in later.
Ideally, TSP Headers ----> X Pipe -----> Magnaflow

Mine is 1111 and I got no drone. Same tone as my old magnafolw cat back but deeper and volume up a bit but I will never go back

I just traded a guy my y-pipe set up for his true duals dumped before the axle, apparently LMR custom made the exhaust set up. The ground clearance for the mufflers (round borla XR1s) is absolutely terrible! They hit almost every little bump on the road. What can I do to get greater ground clearance? I know it's probably said a million times in this thread but I simply don't have enough time to flip through every single page.

Those Phab stainless x-pipe kits look nice. I'm about to change the mufflers on my current x-pipe from a pair of SLP Loudmouth II mufflers to some Classic Chambered Powerstick mufflers. My pipes are all ghetto welded from being custom, so I think I'm going to be buying the Phab kit and install that. I'll update when I get it done.

3" Flowmaster D-Port Merge kit and Moroso Spiral Flows. My Father-in-Law and I did it on a weekend with a chop saw, grinders, Mig welder, lift(s), ratchet straps, cheap hangers from Advance, random exhaust bends, and a big *** fan (Alabama). I made the turn downs out of a cheap 180° pipe from Summit.
Here's my old setup, Custom PaceSetter-Y with Flowmaster 4" merge, next to my new setup.
Sound clip:
Nothing beats a weekend of cutting/welding/grinding and cussing. I think it paid off though. It's never sounded better!

And the old bodywork, like making the doors fit right and the windows roll up, argh, it's been a bit on the frustrating side.
But now it runs and drives, so I just have to finish the interior/windlace/headliner...
