Default Will I gain any HP????

If I remove the fillers in the hood of my WS6 (behind the plastic inserts) will I gain anything or am I just inviting rain on a rainy day???? I've seen it done but is it worth it?

[RANT]

the things people do to their car for the sake of a few horsepower. this is just like the free ram air mod. cut the **** out of your airbox for barely any gain at all. if it were that simple and if the positives outweighed the negatives, GM would have done it.

please leave the hood alone. there is nothing to be gained but water in your engine bay and an uglier hood. well, there's weight reduction, but you can just leave your left shoe off.

To each their own, I gained 3/10ths in the 1/4 all de-baffled and the honeycomb plates are off + BGRA.

i wouldn't cut up my airbox if you paid me. there's a reason why GM didn't do it from the factory (there HAD to be a reason to stop them because it is of NO COST!!!) and there is a reason why thousands of aftermarket ram air kits have been sold. if i want hp, i'll buy a ram air. if i want a dirty air filter, gaping holes in my new car and the risk of water in my intake, i'll chop my airbox to ****.

You did not gain 3/10's in the quarter because of that... That had nothing to do with the slight gain in the quarter.

I removed the baffles out of the hood on my current AND previous WS6 with no adverse effects. Maybe it didn't help, but I KNOW it didn't hurt anything.

People pay money for "cold air intake" setups. This FREE MOD lets cooler outside air come directly towards the inlet for the airbox.

To each his own, I would do it again, no doubt.

Oh yeah, and to the guy that said it would make it an "uglier hood", I must disagree. It looks just as good as before. I actually think it looks good to be able to see the inlet to the airbox through the openings, (when you look close) and it's simply badass to hear the sucking noise coming from the open nostrils in the hood

I agree. I removed the baffles and have the lid sealed to the hood. I've driven through some major rainstorms and have never had an issue. I run an oiled filter though.

If you think that this cut nearly 1/10th off of your 60' time (the real reason you ran a better time) you sir are a retard.

Look at the info on the slips-Temp,60ft, etc... At the bottom is MPH. MPH is the best indicator of hp due to the fact that 60ft doesn't effect it as the ET.

LoL.... I have here in front of me two of my slips. One was at 9:42pm, the other at 10:34pm.

Temp: 73 73
Hum: 45 45
60' : 2.222 2.128
1/4 : 13.96 13.81
MPH: 102.59 106.47

Guess what I did to my car between runs.....NOTHING!
