Stop posting bullshit that you just read and have no experience with, I'm willing to bet you've never even heard a hooker catback with LT's and an ORY, not all ORY setup's are raspy.

Oh and another thing, did you ever stop to think for a second that some people like the sound of a raspy exhaust? I for one kind of do, I think it makes the car sound dirty and mean.
aww, ouch, you hurt my feelings with that one.

far by it from me to make a suggestion. i find $200 a small price to pay for a superior exhaust note. if you like rasp and gurgling, go ahead. you're definitely the minority. personally, i don't like to see people spend hundreds on a setup, start it up and say "wtf? no one told me it would do this!"

you're so right, i've never heard a car rasp, and just because i've owned a V6 in my life, that's all i know about. i've also never been in a shop either my entire life. ****, i have friends whose family owns multiple shops. good thing i never hang out with my friends.

what an ***. if you're on the rag, go whine somewhere else.

I have the edelbrocks w/Ti-Tech coating and you can't go wrong with them. About the same price a the pacesetters but I have yet to see those in person.

yes, yes you are. i like to inform people of what will happen when they make their decision. cats are a $200 option. it makes the car sound better. many people on this site buy an ORY because frankly, they're too damn cheap. i myself will save up the money because i like clean exhaust. if i wanted rasp, i would have bought a honda.

i like giving people both sides of the situation before they make a big purchase and are disappointed in the results. how do you know this guy even knows what an ORY is? and what the benefits of running cats are? maybe he just wants the $500 option because he doesn't know the difference and benefits of the $700 option? if i'm gonna get flamed for making a small, harmless suggestion, everyone can kiss my ***. i go out of my way and post because i want people to be happy and tell them what i'd do. i no way am i saying it's the only option. if some bitch wants to take her rag days out on me, fine, i can take it, but don't go ruining someone's buying experience over it.

Go to www.ls1sounds.com and see if you can find a combo to listen too that you like. There are some good sounds with a variety of exhaust and header setups.

The pacesetters combined with the gmmg catback is just nasty sounding, and that is what i am going with personally.

You ever look around and notice that 90% of the people on this site with headers don't run cats and are perfectly happy with their exhaust note? If someone buys a loudmouth, LT's and ORY, they are going to get rasp. If they didn't figure this out before hand, they need to off themselves anyhow.

Ive put on 6 seats in teh last 2 months. Best fitting ever. Will make power over the pacesetters for less then $400 bucks for the Slip on collector style. And the y-pipe is $100 bucks!!!!!!! Very nice pieces.

Search for part number 65703 and the y-pipe that fits them on Jegs.

See, the problem with this statement is the fact that you dont know what you're talking about. You're wrong when you say that every car on here with an ORY sounds nasty and raspy. I dont know how many you've heard, but you dont drive one. You have a near stock LS1 with SLP exhaust and a lid. I'm not saying theres anything wrong with that, whats wrong with that is that you state your OPINION like its a fact.

And basically when you say that, you're telling everybody on here that has LT's and an ORY that our cars sound like ****. If you had a car with LT's and a catted Y, it would be one thing, but you dont.

Try slapping three little letters after your tired raspy ORY comments. IMO

That would help alot.

And judging by this thread, it seems you might be the manority.

it's like that for a reason. look at the past posts. there have been half a dozen posts in the past week about rasp. i just happened to comment on them all. what can i do? lie each time? a few times go ORY and a few times catted y? people keep asking for some reason how to limit rasp. guess what i'm gonna recommend? running cats! i answer the questions i know how to answer. i know how to mostly cure rasp, so i answer it. if all these answers coincidentally come at the same time, that doesn't make me on an anti-ORY rampage, it just makes me tired of seeing the same posts being posted over and over, but yet i type anyway for the thread starter's sake. why? because i'm a damn nice guy i guess

so i forsee your next question: why did you post about rasp here? where did it mentin rasp? well, that's easy:

the guy doesn't wanna spend more than $500. i don't like price ceilings. maybe times it sacrifices quality. i recommend doing it right the first time. if you gotta save up a little, it'll be worth it. you shouldn't get the cheapest headers you can get just for the sake of money. you get what you pay for. so i recommended a catted-y. the guy didn't seem to know much about headers so i gave some useful information. there's no such thing as too much information - as long as it's accurrate. no one can tell me cats don't reduce rasp, so it seems accurrate to me.

But the point is you try to make it sound as if the exhaust will sound like **** & have so much rasp you won't be able to stand it, unless they put cats on it. This information is INCORRECT.

Giving advise is cool, just make sure its the truth & not personal opinion. There is a BIG difference.

ah ah ah! never said that. his old car has a flowmaster. that'll rasp with an ORY. this new car has no exhaust listed. chances are, what he has will rasp, even with the generally less raspy systems.

does magnaflow rasp? yes i've heard it. does hooker rasp? some say yes, some say no. does the dual/dual rasp? never heard it in person with an ORY, couldn't tell you, but i generally hear no.

what i can tell you is, pretty much everything sounds better with cats with maybe the exception of true duals...but then you don't need an ORY do you?

and big mike, please don't put words in my mouth. if i say something that can be taken two ways and one way makes you angry or sound wrong, i meant the other.

I understand your points, and I'm glad you're helping out. It just sounds so rude sometimes (somehow)!

There has been quite a bit of rasp threads. Maby I need to make a rasp sticky like we did for the TD's!
