make me a catted-y and maybe i'll consider edelbrock. til that day...

lol i am in the WRONG MODDING ERA for worrying about cats?! hahaha! emissions are stricter than EVER! you are in the wrong modding era. go back to the 60's where there were no emissions/inspection. i have to pass because i live in today. if you wanna pay off some shop guy to pass you or put your stock equipment back on every 2 years to keep your car legal, go ahead. you and your 1936 ford can go back to last century where you belong. emissions and clean air laws are today's modding era, not ORY's. how do you think they get away selling catted-y's for 200 dollars more?
I drive a 01 Formula. God try though. Screen name comes from my dads truck we've been restoring. To say that I dont know what good quality looks like is an understatement and makes you look like an idiot for making assumptions.

You ever look around and notice that 90% of the people on this site with headers don't run cats and are perfectly happy with their exhaust note? If someone buys a loudmouth, LT's and ORY, they are going to get rasp. If they didn't figure this out before hand, they need to off themselves anyhow.
I agree. The whole rasp thing is getting real old. Seems like every thread that I read on here about ORYs, etc. has Choco in it screaming, "NO, DON'T DO IT! YOU'LL GET RASP!". I've run LTs, ORY, and a Magnaflow catback on my car for 4-5 years now. There are some that say that the Magnaflow catback is bad about "rasping", but I personally don't hear it and think it sounds damn good, especially with a nice sized cam. I have heard some raspy setups with LoudMouths, but mine is not one that I would consider raspy. Choco, it's your opinion, but it's not fact that every ORY setup is raspy.

indeed. when someone makes a post about rasp, i'll never recommend a catted-y again since they are the most successful cure to rasp. people need to learn to read and comprehend. it wouldn't be so bad if people didn't quote me on words i never said. this is why dan rather got fired.

The most successful is a 17" bodied Spiral Flow muffler. Bet on that! And Cheaper!

see, spiral flows have restriction, so the performance vs. cats is moot. the only difference is, you won't smell like gas. still, +1 for cats even with that recommendation

So I guess cats offer no restriction whatsoever? The day a cat outflows a spiral flow mufler, satan will need an overcoat to go outside.

This thread is done.

Title says "best headers for money". Answer is Pacesetters. :/thread:

BTW 1936FordPU, Pacesetters are some of the nicest fitting, nicest looking, and niceset performing headers made for the F-body, where they are made has no effect on their EXISTING AND CONTINUING QUALITY. So what if there's a few bungs welded on wrong every now and then? I've seen $700 USA made stainless headers need 3/4" of an inch hacked out of the k-member and block tabs sawed off to fit, with their respecitve y-pipes needing a COMPLETE facelift to even fit under the damn car.

Do I wish they were made here? Sure! If they were they would be more expensive and not be able to fit any better than they do now (read: already fit perfect).
