Default Best place for single cutout?

Is the best place right after the ypipe collector or before rear axle? Anybody have pictures of their cutout? Any when people do dual cutouts, are the in the y or between headers and y?

Wouldn't it be best for to put the cutout right after the ypipe collector? Why do people go so far back in the ipipe for a cutout? Isn't that less power? Right now I have a borla fully open so I would think mounting a cutout that far back would not do much in terms of power and sound?

I put mine in the same place. It gives the most clearance because of the indent under the rear passenger seat.

I put mine right after the y pipe, best place for sound and performance. Putting it in the I pipe under the rear seat is better clearance, but a waste to me. Me car is lowered and I still got good clearance where mine is now. The sound is AWESOME !!

I put mine in the location behind the passenger seat (there is an opening that looks like its made for it). I like Jimmyblue's idea too, and have seen that done a few times.

Those are the only two places I'd put cutouts. Right after the headers is likely to slow you down due to lack of any backpressure.

Under the rear passenger seat is like a 11 inches from the merge on the Y pipe to the I pipe, i dont think it will make any difference and it sounds good.

after the ypipe is fine.........
just right off the headers is going to cause problems.

let me know how much you pick up with an open borla and cutout open, and what you made with the borla open and cutout closed.

Will it cause problems with dual cutouts?

Are there any clearance problem in terms of the cutout against the underbody after the y? I'm not worried about ground clearance, just that it clears the underbody itself without any problems? Do you have any pictures of your cutout?

I don't see that you could gain much power if any with a cutout over an open Borla...

You will probably sound louder and deeper for the fact that the sound will be coming out from under the car Vs out the Borla tail...

I 2nd the dyno run request...BTW I have mine under the pass rear seat.
