it's amazing how butt-hurt some LS1 owners get when someone tries to mod the V6...you'd think they'd be secure enough not to bash the car that kept their V8 in production for as long as it did, but w/e....

Do you have a 3.4 or 3.8? If it's the 3.8, I can whole-heartedly recommend a Summit Turbo Style (single 3" inlet, single 3" outlet) muffler and Dynomax Intermediate pipe(3" mandrel bent. 2 piece)

here's clips:

some people enjoy a challenge. leave him alone now, he's done things with the supposidly useless 3.4L V6 that no one ever dreamed of. i'm confident he'd run muuuch better than 16 flat since he did it on a bad clutch and a few mods back. if you did to your V8 what he did to his V6 you'd be running 9's, that's the kind of time, effort and research he put in so give him credit. he was the first of the breed to do a head swap on a 3.4L 60* V6 engine. i give him all the credit in the world for that. some people aren't all about speed. some people would rather take a car deemed "slow and worthless" and beat a stock LS1. that's more of a thrill than running 9's to me.

I'll sell her my Dual/Dual.. I just took it off my car about two months ago. It had been painted black by the first owner but is still in very decent shape.

If she's interested, I'll get rid of it for like 10 bucks plus shipping. I really have no need for it.

By the way... Although I was a little upset when I noticed...but after removal of my Dual/Dual, I discovered the word, "Flowmaster" on the muffler. Must have been a factory option or something.

I had a 94 3.4 and the flowmaster muffler w/ dual outlets and it sounded about as good as a v-6 can sound (which wasn't good at all)... I was kinda embarrased to leave before everyone else I knew would drive off....I didn't want them to hear it.

I wouldn't do anything extreme with the exhaust on a 3.4...they simply won't meet your expectations in sound at higher rpm; then you'd feel like you wasted a bunch of money on something you're not really happy with. In fact, I'd leave that sucker stock...by the time you get done with it, you would have been able to buy a good ole' Z28 (which is what I did)

i have a 97 3.8 camaro and ive had it since i was 18, of course the only reason i didnt opt for the lt1 was the insurance was retarded, well i put a ton of money into that car supersix motorsports heads/intakes etc, 3800 stall 4.10 gears headers duals comp 224/228 113 ls cam and to be honest at idle it does sound awesome but once you drive it you can tell its no v8 but for a v6 it hauls *** lol to my dissapointment i once thought i could beat a stock ls1, then i bought the ws6 and found out it wont lol, so to be honest and im not being rude before you go wasting 5-6,000+ on a v6 just get the v8 thats the only way you will get the sound. I am currently running open y pipe because i sold the exhaust of of the t/a and for stock manifolds and open y it surprisingly sounds awesome, the back seats are now heated seats lol

I think she has settled on not trying to go too fast with this thing but just make it sound a bit better. I went to the muffler shop that installed my B&B on my car, and he quoted me 320 to put a Flowpro muffler on and stainless dual tips on each side. I took a picture of the tips to make sure she likes them, and then it's up to her what she wants to do. The muffler guy told me that the Flowpro won't be as raspy as the Flowmaster 80 series....lol...does that mean it's even more restrictive? Hahaha! She did go out and bought some 18 x 9.5 Z06 wheels and we put them on last thursday, helped the car a lot for sure! That's a mod that she can take off and put on a another F-body once she buys a Z28/SS/TA/Formula. It's not like she wants to dump a lot of money into that thing. The car is in pretty good shape, and all she did so far is the wheels, get the AC fixed (a must in Florida of course) and had the Windows tinted...also a must in FL!

If she decides to get the exhaust, I'll take some pics of the car......and HER....I am pretty sure noone will notice the car....LOL!

Here a preview...let me know if the pic shows up...

Yeah...her driving a V8 version of my car would worry me. I let her drive my car once...and she did good...very well behaved...but on her own.....would hate to see her scraped off the pavement.

I think that Some of you guys should install a set of true duals on your V-6 powered cars. A V-6 with true duals has a very nice sound and also the installation of true duals adds horsepower to the V-6 just like true duals adds horsepower to the V-8 powered cars. Should any of you guys install true duals on your V-6 powered car, you should post the sound on a sounds site to prove that a V-6 has a good sound. Dyno test it before and after to show the horsepower gain with just a true dual exhaust installation. I know that anyone that desides to install true duals on your V-6 powered car will be highly pleased with the sound and the power increase.

True duals is kinda out of the question...too much labor involved just to get that car to sound a bit meaner without sounding embarrassing.

My '95 had a Flowmaster 80 series. Didn't sound too bad, unless I went above 3500 revs. My gf's '02 also has a Flowmaster 80 series (cost $280 installed) and it sounds amazing at any revs.

I say get an LT1/LS1 when she turns 21 and insurance drops.
