Best Way to Clean A Set or headers ??
I had a power steering fluid leak from the rack and pinion.. Left the bottom of my long tubes damn near black... anyone have any ideas of how to het this off or will i have to get them re coated???
i would say use some scotch brite.they are pads about 6"wide by 8" long and come in a couple different grits.they are great for polishing and slight rust removal.i can't remember where all you can get them, probably at some hardware store i guess.

you could even use sand paper for some of the heavier stains. just treat it like you were water sanding and polishing a car. use the heavier paper(1500 grit) and then sand with 3000. after that use some metal polish-powerball would be nice here and that should get some of the shine back. i got a damn plastic bag hung on my pas side header a few months ago. I had to sand the **** off with 100 grit to get past the plastic. The ceramic coating is usually fairly thick

Degreaser and then some mothers polish with some SUPERFINE steel wool. Wal-Mart sells it in a bag in the Hardware dept. I have some and it works great for polishing. Go over them again with just a cloth and they should look great.
