Only way to do cutouts on dual exhaust is to use two of them.

Why is that? hardly any louder than duals?

I've kinda been interested in cutouts too..

Probably won't though, when I get my cam it will be even more ungodly loud. ^_^

Pretty much. Plus they really won't pick up any extra power and you'll create ground clearance issues for yourself. Not worth it.....if your duals don't sound good enough then you picked the wrong muffler.

Get a couple Dynomax Bullet race mufflers. That's what I've got, and it isn't much quieter than when I ran open headers while I waited for everything to be welded. It is quieter at idle with the mufflers, but not by much. Everywhere else (say 1500+RPM) it is the same as open headers

right now i have some pretty loud mufflers (twistys or something like that) but i need to quiet it down. Even when i park outside i wake my family up at 630am when i go to school. They said i need to quiet it down a bit.

So i wanna have quieter mufflers for when i want it quiet and cut-outs for when i want it loud.

Ah...I see. Well in that case, I know of some people that have their cutouts actually attached to the collector on their long-tubes. But you have mid-lengths (why?), so I think if you did that, the cut-outs would intefere with other parts of the car. Hmm...Are you lowered at all? True duals already pretty much eliminate your ground clearance, and with cutouts, I think it will come close to impossible to drive the car even.

I dont think that I would use cutouts on a TD car. I have a flowmaster, I have good damn reason to bypass my muffler. Choke, Choke. HEHE Its nice though

I bought the car with this set-up.
He said he put mid-legnth headers on the car because of ground clearance or something.

my car isn't lowered at all.

if you have the true duals done right clearance wont be an issue.. Oh and I am lowered 1.75 inches.

I just "messaged" the floor alittle and my duals sit higher than my slp subframes

Anyways.. put the cutout before the x pipe or h pipe.. which ever you have. If you dont have either then put it before the muffler wherever you like.

Have you thought about just going with a cat back? You could probably trade the TDs and get a y-pipe and a cat back. FWIW I think its silly to put cutouts on a TD setup.

BTW this is my old car. The TDs are from Lanes and it has Pro-Flow Twister mufflers. It sounds great but it was not my daily driver.

No, i really want to stick with the TD's. I love the sound, performance, and weight savings.

Im going to wait to see how it sounds before i order any cut outs. and even then it wont be until spring.
