I did read the instructions, it said the Intake came factory sealed, and to replace the loosely fit bolts with the six small bolts, I found nothing that fit loosely, so I used the bigger bolts they supplied me, and torqued it down in sequence and heard no popping. If I had a leak would I not hear it? This is driving me crazy, should I just tear the damn thing off again, even if it seems not to be leaking. I've sprayed five times with it like this, seems okay. Why would mine not be leaking, if yours was?

you have to have the lower bolts on the top of the valley so that everything clears. thats why they sell the conversions and the smaller bolts

why is this a heads up? just a research that the user must do before buying parts. nice info as most people won't look for this

There was also a bag of bolts that were SAE, about the size needed to attach the TB, but no nuts. Didnt use those either, or the hex head long bolts furnished to mount the intake. Those would be a bitch to tighten, let alone get torqued correctly. The stock bolts were about 1/16" longer, so I used the washers furnished with the hex bolts. Also had about 30 other extra bolts furnished, and when I asked Rick@ Syergy why, he said they were probably just laying around and he threw them in thinking they were with the intake. So. bite me, I already admitted I fucked up.

its in the directions, but isn't bold like it should be IMO. what i hate is i gotta buy a allen socket so i can torque every bolt given in the whole thing down properly. also, make sure u RTV the MAP sensor, mine fits loose and sometimes air can leak in there also

Yeah it's at the top of one of the direction pages in bold print. But not having the directions to start with, I could easily see how you could mess it up. I almost did the same but luckily I reread the directions carefully. Good luck with your fix.

As it turns out, those extra bolts are needed to replace your valley cover factory bolts that protrude far enough to contact the bottom of the FAST. Needless to say, not having directions, and being too confident/stupid/impatient, I will have to replace the bottom plate on the three piece manifold @ about $350. There, you've been warned, but you probably knew all this anyway, right?

That sux man, JB will probably work. Make sure that there are no loose broken pieces in the intake that could go through the engine.

Yeah thanks for the heads up. Im putting an order in for a FAST 90 tomorrow. When it comes down to working internally on engines and related stuff, i have to follow directions. Too much **** can go wrong.

I guess its a good thing my buddy who knows a bit more then me will be helping me install it. Always helps to have someone look your work over.

Add another stupid fker to the list. Can't believe I did this. Had the bolts out of the bag. I started the project last night. I set the intake on the car and called it a night. Came home from work today to continue the install. Put the bolts in the intake and proceded to snug them up when I heard a pop. I knew what it was. $376.00 + next day air shipping. I'm sick to my stomach.

I find it hard to believe that the FAST intake can be installed without swapping out the valley bolts. With the old bolts installed, as the new intake is set in place there is about a half inch gap between the intake and the block. There must of been one hell of an intake leak for those who completed the install without replacing the bolts, surprised it even ran.

When parts come with directions, you should read them. Saves time in the long run.
