Whew, that was a lot of grinding. Haven't driven it yet, but just wanted to say that you shouldn't use the stone type grinders but instead, one of these .

how would you get a better throttle response for the BSM?

the BSM allows the TB to open to almost 90* providng that when you are doing you do not go over 4.71V..

I went to do that mod a while ago.. but when I looked for this bumpstop, I realized that I didn't have a bumpstop, theres nothing blocking the TB cable shaft at all in my car, it opens 90* stock.

now you need to make sure you are getting it fully opened.
Pop the hood and have some press the gas pedal to the floor while your looking at the TB. Make sure the car is off too. If it is not hitting the bump stop, your carpet behind the pedal is in the way.

Yea there is an adjustment, well kind of, just add a zip tie or two on the cable after it crosses through the pedal, so it will take up the slack. This way you can get WOT without it really getting close to the carpet. Just make sure you dont pull it far enough where it opens the blades at idle.

Throttle response is not going to change with the BSM. All you're going to get is more flow at WOT, not anywhere else.

Just did my BSM and it wasn't the carpet that restricted mine it was that TCS/cruise control loop behind the battery/on fender well that kept it from making my mod @ 4.65v. Take off cover and twist it by hand and you'll see. So I disconnected my throttle cable at t-body and wound it up 2-3 turns to "shink" the cable. Idle will adjust itself. And yes I can feel SOP diff.

i've heard you have to disconnect something (like the TPS) before you grind the bumpstop and then plug it back in, is that true or do you just leave everything plugged up?

When I did mine, I left everything plugged in. I see no reason why you would have to disconnect anything. Below is a link to an excellent write-up on the bumpstop mod.
