But it's hit or miss with the 4.6 IMO. Some sound really good and others are super raspy (worse than a lot of LS1's, LOL).And you can rarely ever argue that the LT1 & 5.0 are the best sounding motors when set-up right.

I was talking about 99% of the stangs you run into on the road, with their cocky drivers and 15 second timeslips
I respect truly fast cars no matter what the are, You give me a 8 second hyundai and I'd drive it with pride.

It's like saying make this Burgur King cheese burgur taste the same as a McDonalds cheese burgur. They may both eseentially be the same thing, but they a very very different.
OHC engines always have a different characteristic to OHV. And it's personal preferance to which sounds the best. Personally I love the lope of a cammed OHV push rod V8. A OHC can never replicate this.
If you really want that sound then you'll have to get the right engine to make it. Jaguar and BMW V8's can make a nce noise too along the lines of the Mustang sound, again because of design and OHC valve train.
People complain about the LS1, but I really don't know why. I think it sounds very good. This even comparing it to Rover OHV V8, Jaguar V12 OHC and some s197 Mustangs with loud pipes.
On tick over I certainly think the LS1 sounds better than the modular engine. But that's just personally preference.
