Angry Bad miss @ 70+mph

The plugs & wires are brand new & on right. I checked them 50 times. I have heat sleeves on the wires as well.

I can feel the fact that the car has lost some power regardless of my speed or RPM.
At 70+ MPH the car feels like it is going to shake apart.

The SES light blinks which indicates misfire. Went to autozone & the woman tried 2 scanners & couldn't get them to read. Guy I bought the car from read it fine w/LS1 edit so maybe the woman at autozone just sucks.

The car sat for a couple weeks then I put the new wires on & now this the 1st time I take her for a drive.

What could my problem be?

hear any ticking?? i had the same thing happen..at the same speed. i had a bent pushrod. then i tried to get the car to do it again on purpose to se if my tuners EFIlive could pick it up. turns out we couldnt figure it out but pounding the gass just bent it more(thats when i heard the tapping) my rod was bent bad and craked all the way around. one more pounding and i would of had a push rod right through to block. so be careful when dertermining whats wrong.

Did you pull the coil packs? my car did EXACTLY that when one of the connectors didn't fully click in place.

*edit* it was the passenger side on mine and it was the single main connector had just barely clicked in wrong. Sorry brain fart came back hope this helps ya out.

Either that or else you cracked a spark plug and its arking off the stock metal heat shields you put back on... I'd put my money on either of those.

I took the rack off when I did the plugs. I checked each connection 50 times & they are all tight.

They are seemingly good.

I changed the plugs again & the shaking is a lot better, but the SES still flashes for misfire & the car still does not run at full power.

I have had the same problem before although mine was not speed specific, it was RPM. #8 plug wire (the one that is a huge PITA) was not clipped on good and caused the car to misfire. It ran like *** at anything about 3k and caused the CEL to flash indicating a misfire. I went to Advance, they pulled the codes and had a misfire #8. Changed that plug and spent a half an hour making sure the wire was clipped on good. Problem solved!

Ohh, and you might want to put those heat shields back on. I was afraid that my new MSD wires would melt. May not matter, but I would rather be safe than have one melt through at a very bad time.

I have aftermarket heat sleeves on the wires.
I triple checked the connections of all the plug wires before I fired up the car.

Went to another Autozone & again the scanner would not read my car. I guess I am SOL

I drove the car a good bit today & it stopped blinking though. It's now just a solid SES light.

I changed the last 2 plugs & took the car for anotehr ride after resetting the PCM. The SES light did not come back & the car felt fine.
