Default Who here is running cats on their true dual setup???

Who has cats, and what kind of setup are you running?? What mods and especially is it cammed and do you feel you lost any potential power? I would inda like to keep it catted since I hear NJ is going to a more strict emission standard.

I have some hi-flow cats sitting around, but I doubt I'll put them on

LOL that's kinda what I figured. I guess if I'm gonna fail the smog test for having the cam on why not say **** the cats too. I just figure that at the free inspection stations anyway they would just laugh at me if I come in there with some loud *** true duals with some nice lope!

some places its a ridiculously high fine. For what... maybe loosing 5 whp. to each his own.

how do you knwo you'll fail smog witht he cam? in pa and nj they test the obd2 port, so as long as you aren't throwing codes and everythign is "ready" you would pass.

You're right, as long as he also has the stock manifolds/cats on there (or somehow he's lucky and they are too harried to do a visual if he had LTs, ORY). And yes, I know many have gone through with LTs & ORY (with cats or tack welded "sheilds" on it), but this seems to be more "luck of the draw" than anything else.
gixxer; how many miles a year do you think you'll be putting on it?? Joyzee does have a "limited mileage", no inspection exemption for specialty/limited use cars (you get a triangular shaped sticker). I would check into this if you want to "mod at will".

I had the carsound cats on my true duals and I didn't feel a difference in performance, and better yet at the track my numbers didn't change either. So your not going to lose much. I installed cutouts directly in front of my cats so I could extract every ounce of power, you could do this if you are worried. I did see a slight gain of half-full tenth with the cutouts open. The better smelling cats are worth having them, and I didn't have any problem fitting them under the driver side of the car.

When I got inspected they didn't really do much of anything. Jus checked lights and suspension and ****. No SMOG but they are getting ready to implement the california SMOG standards here so who knows. I just don't see how you could pull in there sounding the way a cammed LS1 sounds with true duals and pass. I guess id missions aren't tampered with you would be okay but I would assume it would cause them to look around some more.
