Ive got a Meizuer (spelling?) on my car, its a daily, although I didnt drive it far during the heat, its done pretty well so far, and they can be rebuilt by the maker for about $50.00. Im going to put a stock one back on it though just because Im not taking the chance.

When u notice ur temps go through the roof then ull know. Same thing as a stock pump... Unless it bursts open and coolant goes everywhere and u see white smoke coming from ur engine. I dont see how it would be different than knowing when ur stock pump goes out.

I don't know if there is a weep hole on these to let you know that you are about to have a bad day.

Just be mindfull of the pump. When you feel it's time for a check up, send it in. Also, keep an eye on your temps.. If the pump fails, likely your second fan will turn. This can be used as an alert to a potential issue.

IMO you can get 5rwhp much easier with some other $500 mod

the only benifit of an electric water pump is that if you are at the track you can have your water pump and radiator fan on in the staging lanes and be cooling down. other than that the gains are very minimal for dollar spent

because the stock pump lasts for a hell of a lot longer. Mine has 85k and 7 years already.

Mechanical pump is a lot less likely to break than a electric pump that has a certain life.

how do people do that? do people actually wire a switch to keep it on when the car is off? or does the pump just stay on after the car shuts off?

it would be simple to wire it on a toggle switch

i think wiring a toggle switch to the pump and fans would do wonders at the track. my car is on a stock thermostat and the temps go all the way up when i reach the end of the track
