Which Catback?
Which Catback? Which catback system would you guys recommend for me? I'm not interested in any one that is extremely loud. Just looking for a nice stock sound with improved performance. Please tell me where is the best place to purchase and how much I should expect to spend. thanks
Best is a insanely loose term other then sounds good "that will vary from ear to ear" you give us no info on what you are looking for.

Gotta love these "what's the best exhaust" threads. I will post the same response everytime to these questions. There are a few variables to think about:
1) What is your budget?
2) What are your plans for future mods (headers, cam, ORY, ect.)?
3) What is your sound preference?(check out LS1 sounds.com)
4) Do you wanna consider going with true duals?
5) Do you care about it being stainless steel?
I don't think that any setup is overly loud on stock manifolds and cats, but it is a matter of opinion. If you are gonna keep the stock manifolds and cats, then you probably wanna go with something a little more aggressive, like the LM1 or LM2, Borla, GMMG, or Texas Speed. Also consider getting a cutout installed. Other setups like the magnaflow, Hooker, and Corsa are nice systems;just realize that they will be pretty quiet with stock manifolds and cats. If you can answer some of the questions above then we will be better able to answer your question. Otherwise, all you are gonna get is a bunch of differing opinions.

Well, if I am interpreting your post correctly, it sounds like you want a good performing catback at any price that will not sound much louder than stock. This rules out the GMMG, Loudmouth, Borla, and Texas Rumbler because they are quite a bit louder than stock. This leaves the Magnaflow, Hooker, and Corsa. All of these will flow about the same (give or take), so that is not an issue. The Hooker is the cheapest and the quietest. The Corsa has the best tips, and the Magnaflow is also a good choice. Now just listen to the Hooker, Magnaflow, and Corsa on LS1sounds.com and make your choice!
My 0.02 would be go for the Magnaflow. It is affordable, sounds good but not much louder than stock with stock manifolds and cats, and is stainless steel.

I bought my hooker system for something like $275+ shipping from TSP...you might give them a call, but I think that the hooker tips suck so you will likely pay more to get some decent tips. The good thing about it is that you can probably sell the tips that came with the hooker system on ebay as I got about $50 for mine.

with stock y pipe and manifolds those should be your best bet. both are farly quiet but will give a nice rumble when your at WOT. id go slp dual dual. they discontinued them but you may find a great deal in our for sale section. good luck. my choice is magnaflow.
