My car gained nothing going from a stock screened MAF to a larger mesh screened 85mm tb.
The entire intake tract is 4" and the Fast intake has a 92mm tb.
Results may vary apparently (at least below about 500rwhp). My car makes ~440rwhp through an unlocked converter and heavy drivetrain, would pretty easily be 475-480rwhp in a typical t56 fbody.

My car gained a lot going to a 104 lid , 100MAF,102TB and Mamo 102 Fast over a ported stock TB,85 MAF,after market lid,LS6 intake. It feels like it picked up even more with the Prostoc ram air getting rid of the lid. I have to run it to prove it. I may try speed density for a little more improvement. The better head you have the more intake etc will help.

After I swapped the stock LS1 intake and stock, unported TB to a Dorman LS2, and WARR 92mm TB, the car picked up a bunch
Decided to try my spare 85mm truck MAF (w/adapter), and car never seemed "right" to me...no matter what, my AFR's would randomly fluctuate quite a bit...
Tried Closed Loop MAF only, Closed Loop MAF/VE, Open Loop MAF only, and Open Loop MAF/VE...same results no matter what...I must have reflashed the ECM 25 times, lol...Finally ditched the MAF and went back to OLSD, and AFR's came back around & stayed as commanded...
For no reason whatsoever, recently, I swapped on a STOCK MAF meter, with an initial 20% increase in MAF frequency, via HPTuners...
Within 2 reflashes, the AFR is at commanded, and staying there. Car feels great, and actually much more responsive and "crisper" than it ever has been running SD...which is opposite of almost everyone else, I have read about...My VE is/was always between 1-3% off at most any load or RPM
So, SLP lid w/"scoop", stock MAF meter, smooth bellows, 92mm TB, 92mm intake, and running OLMAF, seems to run much better than SLP lid, 3.75" silicone 22 degree hose direct to TB running OLSD
Another WEIRD thing...my car runs it's best numbers with the 4L80E shifting at 5600 rpm...and would barely even rev above that, with turbo gone...
Now, a few times so far, manually shifted it and car seemed to pull hard up to 6300-6400???
I datalog HP/TQ solely to compare run to run at the track, but HP kept rising with RPM, so that seems to say the car is making power well past 5600 rpm now?
I'm guessing at least partially due to the cooler, denser air here lately...but I plan to test one last time, on the 18th, and am curious what, if anything, happens to my timeslips. I had killer air last Saturday at bracket race, and car ran no better because of weather (car was still in OLSD)
